Summary:
Set directly across the quiet coastal road from Onetangi Beach, with no houses in front, Beachfront Bliss is a refreshed 1950s cottage made for simple, uninterrupted beachfront living. Sea views fill the home from sunrise to sunset, and with cafĂ©s, beachfront dining, and long stretches of sand just metres away, itâs an easy base for couples, friends, or a small family.
The Space:
Beachfront Bliss blends the character of a classic Waiheke bach with a fresh, modern feel. The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area faces straight out to the water, keeping the home light throughout the day. Cane armchairs, a feather-filled sofa, and a six-seater dining table create a relaxed, welcoming place to settle in after the beach. A smart TV with Netflix and cable sits comfortably within the space without dominating it.
The kitchen is simple, uncluttered, and well set up for holiday use, equipped with a Breville coffee machine, Bosch dishwasher, and everything needed for easy meals at home. Large windows and sliding doors open the living area to the sheltered front deck, where cushioned loungers and a quality BBQ extend daily living outdoors. Itâs a quiet, sunny spot for slow breakfasts, long afternoons in the shade, or watching the evening light settle across Onetangi Bay.
Two comfortable bedrooms sit at the rear of the home, both with hotel-style bedding and air-conditioning. The master bedroom has a super-king bed, while the second bedroom includes two king singles, making the layout practical for couples, friends, or families wanting a peaceful beachfront base. The bathroom is bright and functional, ideal for rinsing off after the sand.
From the front deck, itâs only a few steps across the coastal road to the beach âperfect for morning swims, long shoreline walks, or slipping easily between home and the sea throughout the day.

A short stroll along the waterfront brings you to some of the islandâs best beachfront dining. Ki MÄha offers refined seasonal dishes in a polished but relaxed setting, while Charlie Farleyâs is a long-standing favourite for breakfast, coffee, and easygoing meals right beside the sand. Three Seven Two sits across from the beach and serves modern coastal food with a strong focus on local produce.
Everyday essentials are close by. Four Square Onetangi provides fresh produce, pantry items, meats, and anything needed for simple holiday cooking. Liquorland Onetangi is stocked with Waiheke wines, New Zealand craft beers, and beach-friendly refreshments.
The home is also well placed for exploring the islandâs vineyard valley. Getting Around:
Regular buses run from Onetangi into Oneroa and continue on to the Matiatia passenger ferry, stopping near major wineries including Tantalus, Stonyridge, and The Heke. With a bus stop less than a minuteâs walk from the house, exploring without a car is simple. Taxis are available but can be costly, so buses are a practical option. Onsite parking and car hire are available for guests who prefer to drive.
Other Things to Note:
Waiheke relies entirely on rainwater tanks, and water is a limited natural resource on the island. To support sustainable living and protect local supply, especially during the drier summer months, we ask guests to be mindful of their water use throughout their stay.
