We were there for four months this winter and loved that house everyday. The great room is so light filled but we also enjoyed the small den with the fireplace on rainy days. Our host very very friendly and responsive. This place is a real find.
The house was comfortable and in a perfect location to access Asheville and surrounding areas. It had all the amenities we needed for our weekend visit. We hope to be able to stay here again next time!
Great location - easy walking distance to downtown. Corner store at the end of the block that is useful for a quick item or two. The fan on the porch really makes sitting outside enjoyable.
We really enjoyed this home. It had all the amenities we needed and the location was great - about a half mile to Black Mountain and about a mile to Montreat. Nice front porch. Sidewalk access perfect for walks and runs. Owner was great and responsive. We would stay here again!
This was a great space to relax and enjoy the quaint town of Black Mountain. Although near town, it was a half mile walk. Sidewalks all the way though. The kitchen was updated and everything worked fine. The only issue - I would not use the sofa bed. It was not fit for sleeping. Suggest that owners replace that or at least add one of those memory foam toppers. Other beds were very comfy and bathrooms were clean and functional.
Overall it was great stay. Only thing which was had problems using our wireless phones to make call inside the house., which probably was our carrier. The amenities were less than a mile away.
Nice house in an area where it was easy to walk to town. The newer front room had high ceilings and was most attractive. We enjoyed this house very much.
The property included a new addition with a modern kitchen, hardwood floors and a dining area, all of which was quite spacious. The kitchen had all of the essentials one would need to cook most anything and included confectionaries, coffee filters, supplies, etc. The two bedrooms could sleep 4, or 5 if you were to throw in a cot. It was comfortable and pleasant to stay right in the heart of the community but it felt like you were living in the woods. the bathrooms also had the essentials required to feel comfortable. Additionally, there was a laundry room and although we did not take advantage, the property includes a single car garage. Josh, the owner, stopped by to check in on us and we were impressed to see him so promptly after we arrived that Friday evening after a long drive. Overall we enjoyed our weekend stay at this very affordably priced rental home!
The front porch house was a great place to stay! Clean and comfortable and close to everything in Black Mountain/Montreat. We even took a brief ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway only 20 minutes away. Would highly recommend this VRBO.
This is a great place to stay in Black Mountain! It's very specious, comfortable and clean. We spent three nights there with our two teen boys and large dog, and were sorry when that time came to an end.
The house was very clean and comfortable. Close proximity to downtown Black Mountain. Everyone we met in town was very friendly.it was a 20 minute drive to Asheville and Biltmore.
With a beautiful front porch and amble room for sleeping this cottage was the perfect match for a girls weekend! Many thanks! Hope to make it an annual trip!
Stayed two nights while visiting family in Black Mountain and exploring Asheville. Inside was very nice and clean. House is a lot bigger than it seems from the outside. Did not get to spend time outside due to cold weather and rain. We will consider booking again on our next visit to the area.
My parents stayed here and they complained they were cold, there was no bath mat when got out of shower. I think they left a list of complaints. It embarrassed me because this was part of their Christmas present and they seemed very disappointed. I would not rent here again. It was a nice size for our family Christmas gathering and the kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of room in driveway for our cars.
Overnight stay following Biltmore Candlelight Tour. Owner was great to work with. Allowed early check in and provided useful information about Black Mountain. Great recommendations for food. Loved Biltmore and Black Mountain. Will be back.
Great Location, but house needs a thorough cleaning!
House location is close to everything in Black Mountain and the surrounding area. Had a good time exploring the shops and restaurants and Montreat is such a wonderful place to get out and walk. We're into antiques and crafts and we had a lot of choices to look at. Ingles in Swannanoa was a wonderful grocery and had all that we needed for the days we stayed. I'd like to come back to this area when the weather is warmer, since getting out onto walking trails would have been a little cold for our group. The path along lake Tomahawk was really nice and they have a great area to picnic. I don't recommend this house for those of us who have mobility issues since the front steps are very tall and there are no grab bars in the bathrooms.
Overall, this property fit all of our needs... close to downtown Asheville, clean, enough beds, accessible owner, and a full kitchen. Joshua was very responsive when we had questions or concerns. However, there was a dramatic difference in temperature between the living area and the bedrooms, the sound of the TV wouldnât go up (no matter what we tried), and the water was almost hot enough. None of these things were a big deal for us but worth mentioning. We would definitely return... it was an affordable alternative to seeing Asheville! Thanks for the hospitality.
