Dave and Diane are wonderful and were in contact with us during the week to make sure we had what we needed. The accommodations are excellent and the property has everything you need. We had an excellent time and have already booked next year for our third year there.
Everything was great only complaint I would have from the pictures it looked a little more secluded than it is but great stay and the neighbors are very nice people!
This is our 4th time staying at Cranberry Pines and it was again a wonderful week. Great hosts, clean, comfortable cottage with everything you need to just relax and enjoy all that the Eagle River chain has to offer.
We had a wonderful getaway at Dave and Dianeâs cabin! It was in a great location! The cabin was well equipped with everything you will need. We had a great time and enjoyed the kayaks and canoe!
Our 3rd annual stay at Cranberry Pines was again fantastic! Great for boating, fishing, water sports, bonfires and just relaxing! Looking forward to our 4th annual visit same time next year!
Cranberry Pines is a meticulously maintained property that is well stocked with all the things you need to enjoy your time in the North Woods and on the water. Dave & Diane are great hosts that make you feel right at home.
Can't wait to return again next year for our 6th year!
This was our second year to stay at this property and again loved the location, the hospitality and friendliness of the owners and seeing all the deer and black squirrels daily!! Booked already for next July!
Cranberry Pines is a wonderful place to stay, fish, and relax. A little slice of Northwoods heaven. Dave and Diane are awesome hosts and very attentive to their guests needs. We have already booked our stay for next year.đ
The cabin offered living space to keep us together but separate if we wanted. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. Access to the many lakes and the nice pier were amazing.
Our stay at this beautiful place was too short so we will have to come back again soon. My family thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We fished, we talked my the fire pit, we snuggled. It was perfect.
Highly recommend! This was by far the cleanest Vrbo we have stayed at yet. Dave and his wife are fantastic hosts. They are there to greet you and make sure you have everything you need but you also have all the privacy you need. The location is fantastic- on the water in a channel away from boat traffic; tucked away far enough from Eagle River to enjoy nature but close enough to make a short drive into town for anything you need. We will definitely be back
This vacation getaway was just what we needed; it is a very peaceful and relaxing area. It was nice being able to fish right out the back door. The property is located within a short distance of many beautiful lakes and has deer wondering right up to the porch. We wish we could have stayed longer but are looking forward to a return visit.
Returning guest -we love this cottage!
This rental has it all - secluded and peaceful, clean and tidy, well stocked with convenience items, âhomeyâ feel, and excellent fishing right from your own pier.
We and our dogs, had a wonderful time as always and are excited for our return trip in August.
Thanks Dave & Diana!
Hi - we are Dave and Diane Butchart. We met on a blind date the summer of 1982 and will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this August. We have 2 sons, Mike and Nick who have enjoyed coming "up north" since they were born; however, our German Shorthair dog Chloe loves the north woods more than any of us.
In 1962, Dave's grandparents, Ace and Eva Kenney purchased 7 acres of land and 300 feet of frontage on Cranberry Lake. They choose this particular piece of water front because Eva loved the solitude and to be able to see land not too far over the water. It was then that they started envisioning their dream of building a resort, which become known as Kenney's Resort. The property consisted of a year round home and the "big" and "little" cottages. The love of Cranberry Lake and the Eagle River area was instilled in Dave by his grandparents from his earliest childhood memories of sitting on his grandpa's lap in the old red pickup truck and helping his grandma clean the cottages and get the boats ready for the next set of renters. Upon their death, Dave's family inherited the home and the cottages were sold. Years later, we now own the home and in the fall of 2014, we were presented the opportunity to buy the "big" cottage". Ace and Eva's dream was to share their little slice of heaven with those who rented from them and we are proud to carry on their dream. In that spirit, we would like to share what's now known as Cranberry Pines with you.
You now know why this place means so much to us, but here are some little things that make it special. While there is knotty pine throughout the entire cabin, the knotty pine used in the original part of the cabin was milled from trees on the property. With the addition of the great room and covered porch, it's a very comfortable and inviting place to visit and we strive to make you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. Another favorite of ours are the many birds and animals we see every day. Whether it's hummingbirds that frequent the feeder outside the picture window, the Eagles nesting across the water, the deer meandering through the yard or the loons calling in the evening, you will have plenty of opportunities to connect with nature. Whether it's time spent bonding with family or friends around the campfire or spending time on the water, we hope you choose to join us at Cranberry Pines.
