• All the artwork is original and made with love concentrating on the beauty of “The Rock” and the fisherman heritage of Newfoundland by a local crafts artist

Our host Clarissa is five star. It is an old home that has been well remodelled up to today’s standards. Easy to find location lots of parking. There are laundry facilities on the second floor, and the house was very clean. They View of the Harbour , walking distance from the Stone jug restaurant where the food is good. Minutes from major shopping mall. The best compliment I could give to anybody visiting Newfoundland is the people that live here are the friendliest on the Earth. They will go out of their way to please you.

Everything was wonderful - from the amenities to the location to the assistance from Clarissa. Absolutely fantastic experience. We are looking forward to coming out in the summer to experience it in good weather (we stayed here early February 2026 during a snow storm).

House is like staying in a art gallery. So many fun things to look at. Kitchen has everything we needed and more. Fun restaurants to walk to. Lots of history and trails in the area. Beds were comfortable. Would stay here again.

Beautiful 'round the bay' home. There are several interesting shops and restaurants nearby, the butcher next door was really unexpected. The house is very well stocked, it is close to the road but didn't find it overly loud, loved the eclectic art.

This is a happy place, beautifully decorated with local artist Clarissa's work--even on the fourth day of our stay, we were still discovering pieces we hadn't yet noticed, all original and ocean themed, some a little funky, all fun! We were also surprised and thrilled to find the reasonably priced, lightweight (better when you're flying out) hand-crafted souvenirs Clarissa has made available. The house itself is comfortable and cosy. As a librarian, I was impressed with the choice of books to be found. The kitchen has everything you'd ever need, and more! I laughed out loud after having read the comments in the guest book from the guy who couldn't find the toaster! We found it by simply opening a cupboard door, and everything else from a cheese grater to a garlic press to a rolling pin, along with top quality cookware, and lots and lots of dishes and flatware. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows exactly the way we like them (not to fat, so you can use two when reading, and just one when sleeping). It's true, as some have commented, that there is quite a bit of traffic going by the house (which amazed us, as we imagined Carbonear to be a tiny hole-in-the-wall kind of town) but if you sleep in one of the back bedrooms, you won't hear the traffic and, in any case, there are far fewer cars during the night. The wifi worked like a charm, and we appreciated the little info notes that were left around the house (Clarissa's phone number, the wifi password clearly visibile, some

Great place!

So much character to this house! Each room was decorated with unique pieces of art and crafts. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. All the rooms were comfortable and well furnished. The house was recently renovated, but the feel, the charm, was still there. Next time we base our vacation in Carbonear we will be looking to rent this home again.

Charming and comfortable home filled with local artwork. Had everything you would need, and then some. Appreciated the welcome note and gift. Would most definitely stay again. Only negatives-on a busy street, sometimes a bit loud due to traffic. But great views!!

Quaint House with Interesting hand made art

Lovely clean home, cozy and bright, this property has every gadget you could ever dream to want in a kitchen or home. This owner has thought of everything! Comfortable and centrally located within walking distance to all amenities and restaurants. Only issue we had was the house is located on the main downtown street (Water Street) and traffic is very loud though out the morning hours. We experienced lots of trucks and motorcycles. It's was hot in July and we had to have our bedroom windows open as the property didn't have air conditioning. Might have been a different experience with the windows closed. We would go back a again.
