Bland Bay Bach

A traditional family bach with stunning sea views.

Situated just over an hour north east of Whangarei the bach is on the corner of a small cul-de-sac. It has a walkway providing a short, 100m, two minute walk to the ocean and large reserve.

All the living is upstairs which boasts fabulous views of both the ocean and harbor, the east facing deck has a ranch slider that opens up to the ocean views so you can enjoy your morning coffee basking in sunlight.

Upstairs is open plan, with a practical kitchen, dishwasher, dining and lounge area, a corner snug has been set up for children to play.

Downstairs has two bedrooms with queen beds and a bunk room (bunk room does not fully close off, it is separated by a curtain), there is an additional queen bed in the single, internal access garage.

Outside is a utility room with a separate shower, toilet and laundry. It also has a fish fileting station adjoining it.

The section is fully fenced, large and flat, perfect for a game of kubb or back yard cricket and room to park the boat.

The house has been set up for several families to be able to stay together, enjoy each others company and share this special location.

Bland bay's beauty is part of its seclusion and it offers the quintessential kiwi beach holiday. The the nearest store is 25 minutes away at Oakura bay or 35 minutes to Russell. It is important to take everything you require with you before you leave.

Explore the local area, it has fabulous fishing, diving and great surf beaches. Sage restaurant at Paroa bay winery has fabulous food and the bay of islands is only 40 minutes away.

Linen, towels and T towels are not provided and you are required to leave the property as you found it. This includes doing the dishes, cleaning the property before you depart and removing any rubbish.

Small pets are permitted.

We booked this bach during the storms in January - due to the natural disaster we were unable to go. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. They made sure we were safe and got a full refund. Great accommodation, really handy having a second toilet and shower in a service unit. Excellent idea to have the kitchen and living space upstairs to take in the amazing views. Really friendly and helpful hosts.

So fantastic! Pet friendly an awesome spot just a hop, skip and a jump to the beach. We had 2 families with teenagers. Clean and tidy. Host communicate A++. 2 bedrooms and 1 open plan with bunk beds would highly recommend taking a FAN for each room as the gorgeous weather meant stifflying heat.

Im a fisherman/diver and this place has it all. You can launch boat in any weather as there are 2 sides. House is awesome. Owners are very understanding. House has everything. Good beds,loads of fridge freezers . Fish cleaning station. Ill be back again and again

Home sweet home

A great place to relax and enjoy the beach. Me and my kids absolutely loved our stayed here in bland bay. The pictures here don't even compare to how nice and this accommodation is. Very kid friendly apart from the stairs (only because my kid is 11 months and has learnt to walk very easy fall but we figured away to block it off) but definitely beautiful home nice and clean heaps of yard to run around. The host are always a message away. By letting us check out later to enjoy the rest of the sunny day at the beach before heading home. Price is definitely worth your money. Kids toys, beach toys, DVDs and playstation for late nice fun for the kids to enjoy. The view is stunning. It's definitely a 10 out of 10 for me. We will definitely be back. Absolutely in love with this home and my kids can't wait too go back. Thank you to the host from me and my family.
