- The last 0.5 miles to the cabin are narrow, steep, and winding with some gravel. An all-wheel or front-wheel drive vehicle is recommended to get up and down the mountain and driveway; four-wheel drive is unnecessary. It is recommended that trailers and motorcycles be parked in the owner's parking area at the bottom of the hill, 0.5 miles from the cabin. Guests traveling on a motorcycle must be experienced riders with an all-terrain motorcycle to navigate the last half-mile. Low-suspension, high-performance vehicles must navigate very carefully. The Pines Road is not serviced with snow removal during the winter months
