Step back in time by reserving a Victorian room within the Historic Stone House Inn, an original wayside inn on the National Road that began operations in 1822. It's the perfect place to rest and get away while enjoying the Ohiopyle area. This 3 room suite located on the 2nd floor is split over 2 levels with two bedrooms upstairs with a queen bed in each room. A sitting room with a pull out sofa, flat screen cable television, and a private bath occupy the first level of the unit. Quaint decor and a private hallway. Adjacent to the Stone Room, a common area fitted with a leather sofa with adequate seating and lighting for reading. FREE Continental Breakfast
We stayed in the Steward Suite and had ample room for a family of four. Several dinning options both at the property and nearby. The room was very quiet and beds very comfortable!
Hidden gem in the mountains! Couldnât ask for better accommodations and the staff was top notch. Everyone was so friendly and we were treated like VIPâs the entire stay. Particularly our server Blaine, he went above and beyond and made us feel like friends! We look forward to our next stay here.
Just as described..quaint, charming historic tavern/restaurant along National road. We arrived in time to catch a last serving on a Sunday evening. Food was deliciousâService was terrific! Our check in could not be smoother-used electronicâand hostess was as welcoming as can be ! The floor plan was unique yet easy to followâthe complimentary cafe/bistro hallway was ideal for hot/cold soft beverages andnicely supplied quick bâfast to go in the am. Only issue would be if you have problem with stairs; it is historically accurate in the rooms we choseâ-plan accordingly.
Overall nice old renovated Inn, but on an extremely busy historic cross country highway and the semi traffic is loud. The stair up to the bedrooms is very narrow and the bathroom was on a floor below the bedrooms. Make sure you check the hours of the restaurant downstairs because it was closed at 8pm when we arrived and not open at all the next day so the âincludedâ breakfast was prepackaged mini muffins and Keurig.
Got away for a long weekend to rest and hike the Ohiopyle State park along with the surrounding area. We wanted a separate sitting are from sleeping so my wife could sleep inâŠâŠexactly what we got. The inn was set up with keyless codes for entry making check in and out easy. Very clean and convenient. We ate at the restaurant downstairs and even got a snack the one night. Very delicious and friendly. More than a hotel, but not the extra fees of a VRBO. Would return to try another season in Ohiopyle.
