à propos de cet hébergement
Across the Way, golf and beach heaven
Summary:
A bright and spacious 4x2, perfectly located for Dunsborough Lakes Golf Course and the local beach, bordering Geographe Bay. Dunsborough Lakes is a lovely quiet, residential area, perfectly situated for exploring the area. For the ice cream aficionados out there, it is also located close to the famous Simmos ice creamery! Bring your furry friends along for a full family holiday in the jewel of the South West.
The Space:
The perfect size for extended family or a group of friends, this house will be your ideal base for exploring Dunsborough and surrounds. Dunsborough Lakes is a picturesque and peaceful area, tucked behind a manicured golf course, but still within easy reach of the beach, shops and cafes of the main town. Much of the beach is dog friendly year round. Bring or hire some bikes, or even one of the many e-scooters dotted about, and zip around town via the many paths provided.
The house is all on one level, with two bedrooms at the front of the house (master with queen bed, en suite and walk-in wardrobe; and one double bedroom), and two facing the rear courtyard area (one queen and one twin single bedroom). The second bathroom is located in between, with shower, bath, vanity and a separate WC, off the laundry. The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area is roomy and designed so that the whole family or group can enjoy each other's company during meal and relaxation time. The twin single room also has its own TV, with an Xbox 360 so the kids can enjoy some games in their own space. Both the lounge and twin room TVs also have smart capabilities and a Bluray DVD player each.
In warmer months, enjoy the outdoor dining area while you grill up a storm on the gas BBQ, both located on the deck just outside the indoor dining area.
For the keen golfers out there, the golf club is under a 5 minute walk from your front door! And to make life even easier, there is a golf buggy stored in the garage to save you carrying your heavy bag up the road.

The Neighborhood:
Dunsborough Lakes is a beautiful residential area at the entrance to Dunsborough township. This property is perfectly located to walk straight onto the golf course, stroll to the famous Simmos ice creamery or pop down to the dog friendly local beach.
Dunsborough is the jewel of the South West region, located on the beautiful shores of Geographe Bay. At low tide, the beach has shallow, clear waters, perfect for kids to play and splash around safely, and on a nice day you will find happy groups of visitors and locals alike paddling, floating, fishing and boating in the serene waters of the bay. Just outside of town there are some more secluded beaches, like Curtis Bay and Meelup.
The town is home to many lovely local boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants, and provides a hub for everyone to enjoy good shopping, food and entertainment. A laidback coastal settlement with a lovely community feel, it experiences a large swell in population during high season, yet you would be amazed how peaceful holidaying here can still be, thanks to beautiful surrounding bush, leafy suburbs and long stretches of pristine beach.
It's not just about summer here, despite its popularity thanks to the glorious weather; all year round, even when we may be less blessed with warm days and sunny skies, visitors can enjoy hikes, biking, surfing, off-roading, horse riding, cave tours, water sports, fishing, wine and beer tasting, and generally eating and drinking one's way around the area! Visit in spring to catch the whale migration and wild flower season, or in autumn to enjoy quieter beaches and excellent surf.
Please see the Guidebook for our personal recommendations on where to eat, drink, shop and what to see & do in this fabulous region. This list is by no means exhaustive, however, so please get in touch if you need any pointers ahead of your stay.
The Margaret River Wine Region is one of the most prestigious winemaking areas in the world. Considered a âboutiqueâ region, production is relatively small and quality-focused. The unique microclimates and fabulous soils here mean that producers are able to make some of the worldâs best Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a host of other single varietal and blend wines; most wineries will have a good selection of options, including various sparkling wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz if the flagship varieties arenât your cup of tea. Many of these wineries are also home to phenomenal restaurants, and your dining options will range from full tasting menus to casual pizzas or grazing boards. If you have any particular restaurant on your wish list, we strongly recommend booking ahead all year round. In peak summer season (December-February), bookings are essential and may need to be made several weeks or months in advance. Please contact us directly if you would like tailored recommendations for your self-guided winery and/or brewery tour. If you have time, we highly recommend buying a ticket onto one of the many locally operated winery and brewery tour buses, for an unforgettable day out of excellent food and drink.
Getting Around:
Dunsborough has a number of walking and bike paths, meaning that it is very easy to get around on foot or any wheels of your choice. We are fortunate to have a couple of local business offering bike hire, and Dunsborough has recently been included in an e-scooter initiative. This house in particular is just a stone's throw to the golf course and a 10-15 minute walk to the beach, and a 15-20 minute walk to town, so no need to hop in the car if you want to stay local. Visitors wishing to explore the surrounding area will need a car.
