Apartment at Springcourt Development, Rockley New Road, Barbados

Fully furnished self catering apartment situated just beyond Rockley Golf & Country Club, Barbados. This beautiful one bedroom apartment is ideally suited for 2 people, but can sleep up to 4. The bedroom contains a double bed as well as a sofa bed. There is an additional sofa bed in the living room. Both rooms contain air conditioning and ceiling fans. All windows have mosquito screens. The fully equipped European kitchen with breakfast bar comprises a large electric oven, 4 zone ceramic hob, microwave, full size fridge-freezer, toaster, blender, kettle and all necessary utensils. There is also a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. An iron and ironing board are available. The property features a large balcony furnished with table and chairs and there is a communal swimming pool. The apartment is ideal for a relaxing self-catering Caribbean holiday and also perfect for the golfer, whilst being close enough to all of the amenities that both St. Lawrence Gap and Bridgetown have to offer.


Rockley Golf course: The property is 20 minutes walk away from Rockley Golf Course. This is a 9 hole (with alternative tees for back nine) par 70, 5610 yd course.

Spring Court

This is the best value for the price - perfect for a couple! Birgit has set up the unit with everything you will need to enjoy your stay. However, you will want to rent a car for commuting and exploring the island. The property and the unit itself are very well maintained. The area is very quiet at night, and the pool and sun deck are excellent for relaxing during the day. Spring Court is located at the end of the Rockley New Road, so it is a 30-minute walk to Rockley Beach (Accra). To reach the Massy grocery store on Rendezvous Road is about 45 minutes if you walk, or you can take a cab for 25 BBDS each way. There is no legal access through the golf course to reach the grocery store. There are no sidewalks on Rockley New Road, Dayrells Road, or Golf Club Road so walking is an experience - not recommended for the weak of heart. We had a great holiday with no pressure, lots of walking and beach time. Make sure to check the beach cameras every day for an update on the Sargassum situation before heading out. Dawn the property manager is easy to reach via WhatsApp and usually responds very quickly. She is often on site at the complex to welcome new guests and she also checks in to ensure that you have what you need to enjoy your stay. Met many visitors that have been returning to Spring Court for years. Highly recommend that you stay here.

Lovely apartment but make sure you can get a car too.

Wonderful apartment, all facilities needed were there. Lovely & clean & lovely pool. The main problem was the pin on the web site is on completely the wrong place & appears to be on the road just behind the beach implying a short walk to the beach. It is not it is a good 20 min walk which was very difficult for us as we have 4yr old & had chosen the location so we could walk to the beach as we knew we couldn’t afford to hire a car. If you are fit/ without young children or at least intend to get a car then this place is really great. Would go again if I made sure I had enough for a car too :)

Well kitted out, lovely apartment

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute apartment. It is stocked with all the necessities and really well furnished and equipped. Even though there is only one bedroom, we (3 adults) had a comfortable stay thanks to the pull out sofa in the living room. We always rent a car when we visit Barbados and would recommend doing so, as there is so much more to explore beyond the south coast. However, the apartment is near Rockley beach, which is a nice beach and also offers lots of restaurant options. So venturing far is not necessary if you don't want to. The communal pool is also a great place to cool out if you prefer staying close to home! The house manager, Dawn, was incredibly helpful and readily available when we needed her.

Well kitted out and spacious

The positives: Fully kitted out apartment and supplies- plenty of towels, sheets, magazines, crockery, dishes, pool chairs, clips, lots of activities for kids if you have them, etc. Very quiet location with lovely wildlife visits- roosters and monkeys Pool to ourselves Patio was fabulous Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful property manager Great layout and very thankful for the air conditioning Excellent water pressure in the shower 😁 The negatives: When we first arrived there were hairs in both hand soaps in the bathroom from someone else. There were grease stains on the bottom of the oven that I had to scrub. The distance to the beach was a 35 minute walk so we ended up paying a premium in taxis- I'm not sure if it was VRBO's mistake or what happened but it appeared on the website to be much closer to the beach than it actually was. We assumed from the map there was a path to the main road to get to the supermarket but there's no through road over the golf course so we had to hike it all the way back around. I think it's important to inform guests about that. You’ll pay a premium in taxis (15 Bds/ride) if you don’t want to hike up the hill at the end of a beach day. Some of the linens had obvious stains on them, I'm sure they were clean but they may need to be replaced. The lighting in the bedroom- An extra lamp would be beneficial. I would use the tall mirror to get ready bc the bedroom was the only place we turned the AC on but the lighting was difficult to see anything. The outlets were just that little bit too far for the hair dryer to reach. Your place provided all of the cleaning materials (hand soap, toilet paper, bathroom cleaner, laundry soap) except for dishwasher soap. It would be helpful to have a label on which tray the laundry soap goes into when using it. Overall, we had a very enjoyable time, the neighbours were lovely, the apartment had more than enough space & equipment and we appreciated the AC and dishwasher. We would recommend the place to anyone that had access to their own transportation in a heartbeat.

Not quite as advertised!

The property was advertised as being in a quiet location. This was factually incorrect. We were disturbed from dawn to dusk by the constant noise of the cockerels . If I had been forewarned I wouldn't have booked. There was a lack of lighting in the apartment making it difficult to read. Two bulbs had gone in the kitchen which were reported as soon as I arrived. We leave today and they have still not been replaced! The property is in need of decoration. The shower was leaking. Not what we expected!

Tolle Unterkunft

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön eingerichtet und man fĂŒhlt sich von der ersten Minute an wohl. Die KĂŒche ist perfekt ausgestattet mit allen HaushaltsgerĂ€ten und Zubehör. Auch HandtĂŒcher, Badelaken und BettwĂ€sche sind reichlich vorhanden. Unser FrĂŒhstĂŒck haben wir immer auf dem wunderschönen Balkon eingenommen. Das Schwimmbad im Garten haben wir tĂ€glich benutzt. Es gibt schöne LiegestĂŒhle, Poolnudeln...... , alles ist vorhanden. Die Anlage liegt ein wenig abseits vom Strand und man wohnt deshalb sehr ruhig. Der Weg zum Strand ist aber nicht zu weit und innerhalb einer guten Viertelstunde ist man an einem der vielen tollen SandstrĂ€nde mit schönen Bars und Restaurants. Auch ist die Anlage ein guter Ausgangspunkt zu den SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten der Insel, entweder mit einem der lokalen Busse oder mit dem Mietwagen. Wir können die Wohnung in dieser Anlage jedem empfehlen, der eine gute Kombination von Ruhe, Unterhaltung und Sightseeing sucht. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

A very well equipped and maintained apartment, perfect for a quite holiday, 20mins walk to the beach

We love Barbados and have visited the island many times. We were looking for somewhere to stay for 4 weeks , where we could get away from the cold English weather and just live. Birgit (Drixi) and Fitzroy's apartment fitted the bill perfectly. The apartment was very well equipped with everything you would need. The only thing we found missing was a T.V. But as we had taken our laptops and their was free wifi we easily overcame this problem. Springcourt Complex is very quite and well maintained with a lovely pool area. It overlooks Rockley Golf course (although there is no access to it nearby) so you can sit on the balcony and have a great view of the 3rd fairway and the green monkeys taking their daily stroll. It is a good 20 mins walk to the beach but this is easily do able. I would personally recommend some form of transport. We hired a scooter for one week and a car for another. We found the scooter to be great fun and travelled across the whole island on it.

Awesome quiet well maintain place

The purpose of this trip was mainly to rest while enjoying the great temperature and Accra beach... So we did. This apartment is 20 minutes walk to Accra beach which is a great beach and great location in general. Few times we took a cab but most of the time we have walked and bus. The condominium is awesome, all appliances works great, really well maintained, we ate most of the time on the balcony , the pool is great and most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. This place is cosy and quiet. The owner Birgit was really helpful, provides plenty of information and is great to deal with. Thank you very much for those wonderful vacations.

Another aspect of Barbados

After spending four weeks in a small villa on the West Coast we transferred to Rockley for our final two weeks. The apartment, in a small complex, is a little off the beaten track but still easily walkable to the nearest beach. The apartment is well kept and well equipped - absolutely ideal for a couple self-catering for the most part. For us it was a chance to spend time near the island's South Coast and to explore the local bars, eateries and beaches.

Springcourt 5a

We had a great stay @ 5a. This was the second tiime at the Springcourt development and we love it. The neighbors are all friendly and offer their island expertise in all things. We had so much fun on the Cool Runnings catamarran and we wouldn't have had the experience without Catherine. We rented a car for the month and it got us around which was handy. Rockley Beach is great with Junior and his chairs and all the friendly folks to chat with. We have made friends on both trips (2011 & 2012) and now feel almost like locals. Bubba's sports bar was a good meeting place and we made friends there that we will surely keep. We love the Rockley area of Barbados and recommend to others travelling. I miss the frogs singing at night.

5A Springcourt

My wife and I along with a friend travelled to Barbados for the first time from 01 February 2012 to 21 February 2012. We researched different accomodations and ended up renting suite 5A Springcourt. The condo was everything we needed. First off, the location was ideal in which we were away from the main hustle and bustle of the main streets, yet within walking distance of the beaches and main grocery store. The condo itself was very clean and bright with all neccessary appliances. We had a few minor issues with appliances however we just phoned our "caretaker" Brian, and he attended and took care of our minor concerns. The beaches are fantastic and the local rum shops were a lot of fun. We were able to use the taxi system and/or the bus system to take us to all attractions with ease. What we enjoyed most at Springcourt is the pool for those days where we wished to stay at the condo and relax. The pool is clean and quiet. We also enjoyed the troop of monkeys that live in the trees beside Springcourt. Our stay was made excellent because of Springcourt. We totally would recommend Springcourt for those who want to be away from the main streets and yet close enough to be able to get to wherever you want to go with ease. Walking to the beaches is all downhill, however we would recommend that one take a taxi to return as the walk back is vigorous and uphill. We enjoyed several evenings in St. Lawrence Gap and Oistens which were accessible by taxi/bus sytem. We are already planning a return trip and hope to stay once again at Springcourt.

Beautiful Bajan Hideaway

My wife and I chose to honeymoon at this wonderfully presentable and well equipped property. We found we had everything we could have wanted from cool air conditioned living room and bedroom, peaceful and serene balcony for a long rum as the sun goes down to fantastic swimming facilities to escape the afternoon heat. A home away from home, the biggest difficulty with the place was not wanting to leave when we had to come home. Wish we could stay forever. All in all highly recommended holiday home for a romantic break away- would advise hiring a car as although local Accra beach is only 15 min walk away, to see any more of the island you need your own wheels. Local car rental literally down the road were awesome - economical and reliable.

Supertoller Familienurlaub

Wir waren mit unseren beiden Kindern (7 und 10 Jahre alt) auf der Insel und hatten eine superschöne Zeit in der Wohnung in springcourt. Das Apartment ist toll eingerichtet und wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Birgit hat fĂŒr uns alles perfekt organisiert, wir hatten eine entspannte Ankunft in der Wohnung und wurden nett in Empfang genommen. Uns wurde alles gezeigt und erklĂ€rt, wir hĂ€tten fĂŒr die ganze Zeit in Brian einen Ansprechpartner vor Ort, den wir aber nie benötigt haben, weil alles wunderbar in Ordnung war. Danke hierfĂŒr! Die Nachbarschaft ist sehr schön und ruhig. Die Anlage war sehr gepflegt und der Pool war großartig und hat uns allen viel Freude bereitet. In dem Apartment findet man alles, was man fĂŒr einen Urlaub benötigt. Wir hatten fĂŒr die gesamte Zeit ein Auto gemietet, man kann sich aber auch sehr gut mit dem Bus auf der Insel bewegen. Der Weg zum Strand ist auch gut zu Fuß zu bewĂ€ltigen. Die Kinder waren am liebsten am Strand von Accra Beach. Man kann auf Barbados viele tolle Dinge unternehmen, das Strandleben ist perfekt, das Meer ist toll. Über und unter Wasser gibt es viel zu sehen. Es gibt schöne Restaurants und Bars, das Essen ist klasse. In den SupermĂ€rkten gibt es alles und noch viel mehr. Sehr zur Freude unsere Kinder auch Nutella. Man kann auch abends tolle Sachen unternehmen oder einfach nur gemĂŒtlich auf dem Balkon sitzen. Barbados ist eine schöne Insel, die Menschen sind nett und hilfsbereit und immer gut drauf. Es war ein perfekter Urlaub, den wir jederzeit gerne wiederholen werden. Am liebsten schon im nĂ€chsten Jahr. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!!!!

Our stay at the spring court apartment was marvelous! The apartment was exactly as pictured on the website and maybe even better! The location is perfect to be out of the hustle and bustle (if there really is any in Barbados) and very close to the beach, restaurants and nite clubs. I will return and stay at spring court again, and definitely recommend my friends to stay there also!

really nice apartment in a good place

We were in Barbados for Christmas Holiday 2009 with our 2 children (9 and 11 years old) and our baby and this property was really comfortable. It's very clean, very well equiped and really nice. Everything is new in the apartment and Brian and his wife help us when we arrived. I would recommend this property to my friends or family because is not too far from beach (20 minutes with a nice walking...just a little dangerous with the cars), the swimming- pool is ok and the apartment relly comfortable. The payment was easy with Birgit, who is really sympatic. It's easy to visit Barbados wih bus . Last point in Rockley there is chinese restaurant, snack ...and its' casual.

Vater und Söhne machen Urlaub

Ich (mĂ€nnlich, 56 Jahre) war mit meinen beiden Söhnen (23 und 8 Jahre) auf der Insel. Direkt mit der Condor von Frankfurt ist ein Traum. Auf Barbados angekommen ging es mit dem Taxi zum Apartment. Dort wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und uns wurde alles erklĂ€rt. Ich hatte vorher mir ein paar Dinge einkaufen lassen, so konnten wir schön zu Abend essen. Am nĂ€chsten Morgen wurde unser Moke (Auto) zur Unterkunft geliefert. FrĂŒhstĂŒck auf der Terasse mit tollem Blick. Meine beiden Jungs haben sich sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Entweder sie haben den Pool nicht mehr verlassen oder Rockley Beach unsicher gemacht. Super schön sind auch die Bars am Strand. Das Wetter war immer sonnig. Ab und zu kam eine kleine Regenhusche, aber die ist nicht der Rede wert. Fazit: Das Apartment ist sehr sauber und ordentlich. Ist mit allem drum und dran eingerichtet. Ich musste auf nichts verzichten und es war so die pure Entspannung fĂŒr uns drei Jungs. Ich werde sicherlich wieder kommen, allein schon weil mein JĂŒngster jeden Tag mich darum bittet. Dankeschön fĂŒr die schöne Zeit!

Excellent

My girlfriend and i stayed in this fantastic appartment for two weeks and enjoyed ourselves very much. Location is perfect - just what we wanted; away from all big hotels and big shopping malls or fast food restaurants - very quiet, tidy and comfortable. With the wooden ceiling this place becomes warm and liveable very quickly. We either relaxed with some drinks on the balcony or jumped into the pool for refreshing in the morning or a cosy session at night. For going to the beach we always took the bikes and it just takes 10min to go to Accra Beach. It is always a question of taste, but we thought this is the most beautiful beach on Barbados. Therefore renting a car is not necessarily a must. One can find everything he needs in short distance - assumed that he can and wants to ride a bike =D. I will always recommend not only the Island Barbados for a beautiful vacation, but also this appatment to make it perfect......, and we will definitely come back!

Birgit has been travelling to Barbados since 1999 and is a big fan of the Caribbean. She is German and lives in the UK with her family. Her caretaker Dawn Smith will be meeting guests upon arrival. Dawn is very competent and helpful and will be there if guests need anything during their stay.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I fell in love with this property as it's in a quiet and secluded development away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to the beach and restaurants / shops. I also really like the open wooden ceilings on the top floor that make the apartment more spacious.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

As the development is small, the pool is normally not occupied and although it's shared you often find that you are the only people there.
