Cottages near Algonquin Park

Situé au bord du lac McKenzie, dans le sud du parc Algonquin.
Un lac calme et isolé, avec environ 60 autres chalets. Une grande partie du lac est entourée de terres domaniales. À quelques minutes en voiture du magnifique parc Algonquin.
Grande propriété au bord de l'eau comprenant trois chalets à louer pour une semaine en été.
En été, le séjour minimum est de 7 nuits. Nous privilégions les arrivées et départs du dimanche au dimanche.
En automne, le séjour minimum est de trois nuits.

Idéal pour les grandes familles. Un endroit parfait pour se retrouver tous ensemble tout en conservant son intimité.

1. Chalet 2 : 8 couchages, 1,5 salle de bains, coin salon, cuisine entièrement équipée et sous-sol.
2. Chalet n° 4 : 2 couchages et une salle de bains.
3. Chalet n° 5 : 4 couchages, une salle de bains et une cuisine entièrement équipée.

Le bord de l’eau dispose d’un ponton privé avec un fond sablonneux peu profond (suffisamment profond pour accueillir un bateau) qui s’enfonce progressivement et est idéal pour la pêche, la baignade et les activités nautiques.
La plage est accessible en quelques minutes en pédalo. Un pédalo, deux kayaks et un canoë sont mis à votre disposition.
Une rampe de mise à l'eau publique se trouve à quelques minutes seulement des chalets.

Amazing place and owners

Property is beautiful. Facilities are very guest friendly and so pleasant and comfortable. Beds are very comfy. So much to do and see in the area. We would highly recommend and will be back. It was fantastic all round.

This is a marvellous property! We rented it for a week for 11 of us. The cottages are very pleasant, and the entire property was ideal for us. Excellent outdoor space in particular, and right on the water. The indoor space in the largest cottage would be very tight for 11 people having a meal, but we had good weather, so this did not pose problems for us.

A beautiful stay on a quiet lake

Very cool setup with multiple cabins gave our friend group with a mix of couples and singles a lot of flexibility. Grounds are well maintained with every sort of equipment you could ask for. Starlink Internet worked well. Lake was quiet with minimal boat traffic. Easy to get down to the water and walk out into the lake for swimming.

Our 4th year here — and that probably says it all!This year was 7 teenagers and 2 adults, and everyone had a fantastic time.Check-in was easy, communication with Janet was great before and during our stay, and the cottage was clean and well stocked. The binders with cottage and local information are really helpful too.We noticed a LOT of upgrades since last year, including some things we weren’t expecting. After four years, it’s really nice to see the continued investment and care that Janet and Nelson put into the property.With 7 teenagers, we needed to make sure they kept busy! We brought our own ATVs, paddle boards, badminton net, Spikeball and bocce ball. They also loved the canoe, kayaks and paddle boat, plus swimming, fishing, campfires, cornhole, walking and exploring.After the campfire, the kids played cards and games in the main cottage, then headed to the basement for board games and old VHS movies from the cottage library. Seven teenagers happily watching VHS tapes was pretty funny! The lake and area are so quiet and peaceful, and everyone we ran into was so friendly. There is tons of space for your own activities, which is a huge bonus with a big group.Our biggest pest was the stable flies — obviously not something Janet can control. Cell service is best by the lake, but I’m not complaining about that either!The 17-year-old boys told me they had the best week ever and would never forget it. Honestly, that’s probably the best review we could give

Family Vacation, 2025

Our second visit to Alexanne Cottages was as totally satisfying as our first, in July, 2024. It is wonderful for each family to have their own space, and yet spend lots of time enjoying the beach activities and taking meals together. We are a group of 10 (6 adults and 4 children (ranging from 3-9). The cottages are very well equipped, and everyone enjoyed the beach amenities (canoe, kayaks, water mat, beach chairs, etc. All in all, I highly recommend our stay on McKenzie Lake!

Ten Star Holiday

The cottages are very clean, well looked after, and exceptionally well equipped; the lake was very quiet with little boat traffic, even on weekends. The swimming was wonderful, and both adults and children enjoyed the water mat! All in all, it was a memorable family holiday, and everyone voted to plan another visit to Alexanne Cottages. Thank you to our excellent hosts, Janet and Nelson.

This was our third time staying here, and once again we had a wonderful experience. We came as three families (four adults and kids ages 13–16), and the cottages were perfect for us—clean, comfortable, and with plenty of space to hang out together while still giving everyone room to spread out.The kitchens and amenities had everything we needed, which made group meals easy and fun. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side this trip, there was still lots to do and the kids had a great time. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, reconnect, and enjoy yourself no matter what.The host is fantastic—always quick to respond and checking in to make sure everything is going well. That extra thoughtfulness makes such a difference and is one of the reasons we keep coming back.We’d absolutely recommend this property to other families or groups, and we’re already looking forward to our next stay!

Just what a tired mama needed…

Once again, we had a terrific family and friends vacation (that includes our fur babies). I was looking for a place to relax and recharge, connect with my family and our friend’s family. We are a go go go family and need a week to just sit, play, and enjoy each other’s company. We are a large bunch with several teenagers and need space and a place that isn’t ‘fussy’. This hit the mark again. Janet was super helpful leading up to our stay and during our stay. Everything you need to know is at your fingertips. If you are looking for a place to wake up, open the door and let the kids play, this is it.

Best Vacation Spot for Families

This is an absolutely outstanding spot for a family to all gather for a vacation together. This is our second year where my family of 12 (my three kids and their spouses and my 4 grandchildren) were able to spend a week together. Beautiful property with clean accommodations, spectacular water access, and has everything you could possibly need for pleasure in the water, around the property and in the cabins. Janet and Nelson have thought of everything. This year was extremely special as my daughter was proposed to in her cabin. We had a lovely celebration. This place is now even more special. We have a family cottage near by that we have enjoyed for many years.
Alexanne Cottages is a newly acquired property for our family, it also has a long history on McKenzie Lake. I hope to soon create a book for each cabin with all its history for those that are interested.
With most families leading such busy lives, we hope to bring the uniting atmosphere that cottage living can bring to a family. I know it certainly does for our growing family.
We have been busy renovating and updating this beautiful property, and are now ready to share this experience with all of you!!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Beautiful secluded lake surrounded by crown land.
The gravel roads into the lake are well maintained (even in winter) approximately about a 13 minute drive off the main HWY 127 .
McKenzie Lake has a well maintain public boat launch very close to the cabins.
Being so close to Algonquin Park ( about 32km to east gate in Whitney Ontario) is a definite bonus to staying with us. Be sure to take advantage of all the beautiful trails, wildlife and activities the park has to offer.
Our small local towns are Maynooth and Whitney, they offer art shops, bakeries, LCBO, pharmacy and groceries. Bancroft is approximately 45 minutes away but has most anything you need.
