Native Dog Cabin provides luxury accommodation for up to six guests. Designed by Chindarsi Architects and built by Dovetail Building Company, the home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large open plan communal area, all with expansive ocean views. The long-house design draws inspiration from the local farm sheds and fishing shacks, its architectonic form sitting discretely within the coastal landscape. Â
3 Bedrooms
Two spacious master bedrooms, each with a king size bed, bookend the home, maximising privacy for guests. A third bedroom offers two single beds for flexibility. All three rooms are well appointed with built-in robes, linen bedding, bespoke art, direct outdoor ocean terrace access, and spectacular views across Dillon Bay.
2 Bathrooms
An ensuite attached to the one of the master bedrooms, and a second bathroom each featuring a generous shower, recycled timber vanity, mirror cabinet, and toilet, both enjoy ocean views. Towels, bath matt, soap, shampoo and hairdryer are provided for use by guests. A washing machine is provided in the Laundry, as well as clothes drying facilites.
Lounge, Ocean Verandah & Hot Tub
A large modular sofa and upholstered armchair provide comfortable spots to relax and take in the panoramic view. Large sliding glass doors open up onto a generous verandah space, outdoor lounge, fire-pit, deck and hot-tub for sunning and soaking. The lounge also features a wood-fired stove for heating, television, and wireless Sonos sound system.
Dining
A generous solid oak dining table seats up to eight guests comfortably. An Eames House Whale sits atop a large sideboard containing, plates, platters and glassware provided for use by guests. From the home, one can sometimes see whales coming in to Dillon Bay for a rest as they migrate along the southern coast. A small gas BBQ is also available for use by guests.
Kitchen
The well-appointed kitchen features an induction cooktop, fan-forced oven, microwave, integrated fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A sink with an ocean view makes doing the dishes an experience in itself. A coffee machine, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery and all the standard cooking utensils have been provided for guest to cook up a storm, should they wish.
Wi-Fi, Car-Charging & Back-Up
A high-speed, low-latency broadband satellite internet service via Starlink (SpaceX) is complimentary for guests. This sustainable home generates it's own power from roof-top solar photovoltaics, which is paired with a battery back-up system, and a universal car-charging point. Rainwater is harvested for use, and waste water is treated and reticulated back into the surrounding landscape.
