Fisherman's or Bird Watcher's retreat! Close to everything! - The Island Spot

You will love hanging out on the front deck of this cozy home. Just a quick ride over to the boat launch at the ferry landing, this 3BR/2BA pet-friendly house accommodates up to 6. The home is in close proximity to such East end attractions as Ft. Gaines, Alabama Aquarium and Magnolia Park. You are a quick drive to the East End Beach which is always a favorite.

As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!

Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet friendly, dogs only, 2-Pet Maximum Limit - $100 pet fee per pet applies.

This was a wonderful place to stay! The location can't be beat - right on Bienville Drive - and close to everything. We walked every day and cooked meals in the spacious kitchen. Can't recommend it enough!

Great location

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. We had no issues at all. Loved the quiet neighborhood and located in a good spot on the island. The house had everything we needed and was very roomy and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Nice and relaxing

Beautiful home, very clean, the porch was amazing. Quick drive to the beach, aquarium, and nature walks at the bird sanctuary.

Great house and location. Island is better than expected.

We loved our stay. The house is clean and close to everything. There are three beaches near the house. It was easy to get there and property had everything you needed. Great house!

Perfect place

This is the perfect house on Dauphin island. It is in the wooded area but nice and private. The home had a bathroom for every bedroom and an unending supply of warm water (which is really nice for sand removal ). Perfectly cleaned. We ended up needing an extra night and was able to stay. Everyone was wonderful to work with. We will defiantly be staying again.

Enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay in DI and can't wait to come back! The house was very nice and convenient. The only drawback was that the floors could have been cleaner. I understand that the brick floors downstairs are hard to keep clean but there were piles of sand in the upstairs carpeted bedroom, which did not appear to be vacuumed. Other than that, our stay was fantastic!

Wonderful home. Loved the front patio.

Stayed here with our 2 dogs. Really loved the home and the property. House was clean & well stocked. We spent a lot of time on the front deck / porch. We have been coming to Dauphin Island for about 20 years and, for the price, this would be the first place we would want to stay in the future. There is not a view of the beach but for that you would spent 3x more per night. The beach and everything else you can need is just a short drive away.

2nd time staying at this property

We have been coming to Dauphin Island for 20 years. Sometimes we stay right now the beach but when we want to stay longer and don't want to pay 400 per night we love staying here. The location is perfect and close to everything. Is always very clean Has a great deck we and I dogs love to hang out on in the mornings and evenings. Very close to multiple beachs (5 minutes). Well stocked kitchen and comfortable furniture.The only negative I can say is about the beds. The only one remotely comfortable is the bed upstairs. The owners should invest in some new mattresses. There are some very good ones on Amazon that are not that expensive.

Check in and location were good. Smell upon entering was old and musty, had to light candles, buy air fresheners and open doors. Took until the day later for the smell to get better. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, but no seasoning, no coffee, no kitchen cooking staples at all. There was only 2 dishwasher pods and no clothes washing powder but we needed to put on a load of towels before leaving. Also the downstairs bedroom with double bed, bed mattress was not in good shape at all. This could be a great rental, just some pride, upkeep and updating is needed. Games made available, extra blankets to use in living room, any extras would have been nice. But we managed and didn’t let these disappointments hinder the enjoyment of the stay.

Great house! Cool neighbors! But 15 mins of hot water was rough for showers

Everything was wonderful! The recliners were awesome and I loved having a washer dryer! I will say- the bathroom to the bottom floor with the single bed was super slippery- my youngest slipped three times in there. The water heaters for the showers were set to only have about 15 mins of hot water so speed showers are the name of the game unless management makes a change on that front! :) the beds were decent but something was off with the downstairs single bed none of us could use it. It hurt to lay on. The twins and upstairs bedroom/bathroom were decent tho! Everyone was so exhausted we barely noticed anyway! The swing was amazing out front too! We really enjoyed planning our day on the front porch! The location is awesome too because it’s on the main road so it’s really easy to access all the cool places on the island! :) I would definitely stay again! (Especially if they fixed the short shower issue!)

Horribly maintained

Upon arrival we thought it was cute and very like the listing. As my husband started to unload the car, I was walking around “exploring” with my 5 year old and 1 year old. Through our exploration we found the floor leading to the attached bathroom in the 1st floor bedroom had NO subfloor and dropped inches creating a hole upon any weight. Immediately I had my kids leave the room and showed my husband. I contacted the night property manager who was amazing. While on the phone with her, my 5yo still exploring opened the blue hutch/desk and my husband noticed the desk part was covered in, what appeared to be, dry blood. The property manager understood and heard my concerns, safety being the biggest, and quickly got us moved to another rental. The house could have ruined our vacation, but the property management saved it and it was a perfect vacation (once we switched houses) full of lifelong memories.

Dauphin Island Getaway

We enjoyed our stay in Dauphin Island. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. However, the property did not fully meet our expectations. Being this is a vacation home with various renters and is dog friendly, by no means is it expected to be perfect. Upon arrival we noticed a stench coming from the sink that did not go away, so I called property management and they were quick to respond and had maintenance come out and fix the issue. Someone had put a piece of chicken with the bone in the garbage disposal. Additionally, there was a set of blinds missing on a window in the main sitting area, countertops were left dirty, bathrooms were not fully stocked (missing hand towels and bath mats). The flooring was tile and was very slippery when getting out of the shower. The property would definitely benefit from some updates as well. In general our stay was good and management was attentive at responding.
