Had a lively weekend with our son and his girlfriend. The kids rode all weekend.
The multi-story layout afforded everyone plenty of space. I would just note that the main living space is up one flight of stairs, so if stairs are an issue, this is not the property for you. For us, it actually added to the flexibility of the property. We loved it.
We were so excited to find this house fairly last minute for a group ski trip to Sugarloaf over February school break. It was the perfect amount of bedrooms for my son & me and another family of 5. Easy access to the slopes and all amenities of the resort. We affectionately referred to the house as âthe dormâ because of the decorations and well loved furniture. Overall could use some updating, but beds were comfy, showers had good water pressure, all appliances worked and we loved the wood burning stove. Made some great memories with our gang at our stay!
If you want a convenient crash pad for skiing, then this place works. However, if you plan to spend time cooking and relaxing, you will want to rethink or ask questions before you book. We had 2 families staying, both of whom rent homes so we know what it takes to rent. The pros: showers good pressure, fireplace great, beds are decent; location is convenient (ski out: walk across Mountainside, ski in via Condo cross cut), W/D new and large capacity. The cons: extremely dated in looks and functionality (frecliner was broken; pillows, linens, appliances worn); front door was extremely hard to open/close which was concerning since that was the locking mechanism; we noted a dingy odor every time we entered; minimal storage for food (refrigerator door literally overflowed and freezer was full); pantry was not set up for our food storage so we were limited to the small kitchen counter or on top of refrigerator for food storage; ask ahead to confirm cooking supplies but don't expect a lot; dishes were put away when still wet (yuck); steps to 4th floor are very steep. In summary: We were told several times that the owners have 9 kids which didn't seem relevant except to explain the gear. The condo felt more like a bachelor pad of someone who frantically shoves their belongings in closets/drawers before a date or parents visit. We had limited options when we booked but if we had to do it again, we would probably opt for a different vacation if this was our only choice to stay.
We just returned from 5 days at Sugarloaf. The condo was in a great location. We could walk to the lodge/restaurants in the evening for dinner or to the chairlifts in the morning. It does involve walking down/up a small incline on snow. We had plenty of room to spread out since there was only 4 of us but you could sleep 6 couples easily. Christine, the manager, was very responsive and answered any questions we had very quickly. We were even able to add on an extra night at the last minute. We would definitely stay here again since the price was hard to beat.
