Self contained unit in a rural setting, 5 min to town and beach!
This old cow shed has recently been converted into a cosy one bedroom studio. Having been relined, insulated, with new chattels throughout, it has come a long way from its Cow Shed beginnings... The cottage is set a small beef farm, just a five minute drive from Takaka. If Biking is your thing, we have several top class bike tracks close within 3km, plus a bike path to both Town and Pohara. Small weber BBQ provided for cooking outside and microwave inside. Plus there's free view TV if you get bored of the lovely rural views!
Lovely outlook, very handy to plenty of great activities
Really enjoyed our stay, welcoming and friendly host. Loved the quirkiness of the property, clean and fresh and very pleasant place to stay. Very handy to a wide range of great activities to do - well worth walking to Rawhiti Caves, swimming at Pohara Beach and the ford down the road, gathering seafood at Patons Rock and of course so close to Takaka. Would definitely stay there again and do recommend it.
Thank you for a wonderful couple of nights - loved the peaceful country setting and the property was just as listed.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone - thanks again.
Perfect spot for us as we live on a farm. Quiet. As we are older found bed hard, a topper would help, could be taken off if you like a firm bed.. Only slept here really as there is so much to see and do in the area. Needed a top up of tea bags and soap which was promptly delivered. Very handy to town and beaches.
Everything was as listed. Basic soap could have been more than a bit of hand wash.
A dishcloth could also have been useful for cleaning up at the end of washing up and for cleaning up at the end of our stay along with a broom or brush and pan.
Beautiful outlook.
Overall a great stay at an affordable price.
very compact , nice rural outlook. Does lack cooking facility , difficult to bbq in rain and with nothing other than tongs for our eggs. apart from glass container , nowhere to put rubbish and recycling. no fresh towels for our 5 night stay. Handy to beaches and town, great for younger couple into the outdoors.
Space is well used for a solo traveller or couple to have a nice place to stay while exploring the area. Doesn't feel cramped. No internet access, but this is kind of nice so that you can disconnect. Handy location to Takaka town and Pohara/Tata beaches. Lovely to eat dinner on the deck while listening to birdsong, but bring bug spray. If the place had fly screens that would make it even better, as in the summer it warms up and retains the heat, but you don't want to leave the doors open because the mosquitoes come in with the fresh air.
