Energetic joggers or walkers have miles of easy and safe lakeside track which leads all the way town. Got kids or a spouse who love to fish? Waitahanui River mouth is only 5 minutes away. Bring the dinghy and you can watch from the deck while they bring home a trout for dinner.

Recent guests wrote Mahuta has the WOW Factor!!!! We have stayed in many locations around the Great Lake and 114 Mahuta rates the best. With its proximity, a few paces, to the lake, low level, and stunning 180-degree panoramic views it rates the best accommodation available in our opinion.

There is no access to the garage, but there is plenty of parking on the property.
Not suitable for camping or campervans

We like to give our guests their privacy but Kerry is available by phone or text to answer any questions and we are only ever 10-15 minutes drive away if needed in an emergency.

Holiday homes and a couple of permanent residences make up this neighbourhood. No local store close so all supplies need to be brought with you.

Please note there is no TV, we hope you enjoy the beachfront living and not want to be indoors, we have good games there for you all to enjoy!

Rotorua is only one hours drive and Hawkes Bay within 1.5 hours drive for a day of sightseeing and for the active traveler the Ski field and Tongariro crossing is an 1.5 hours drive. The Glowworm Caves are also 2 hours drive and Hobbiton 1.5 hours making Taupo the heart of the North Island and the perfect place to stay and explore from.
No parties, no stag do`s, no hens do`s, quite time after 11pm
