All was good. Lots of tall weeds along the walkway to the back sitting area. Also do not go across the canel were park benchs are, that is private property and the owers will let you know (no trespassing sings should be posted).
We were in the area for a wedding. This little rental packed a punch for our weekend stay. There was plenty of space to spread out and we truly enjoyed the back area. Spending Sunday just relaxing at the open bar area and having a fire that evening was the highlight of my kids' stay. The area is quiet and peaceful and the host provided all the tools we needed for a great stay.
Highly recommed!! The property was just as pictured, super cute and clean! It has everything you need in the kitchen! We made great use of the bonus room and fire pit. Such a wonderful extra space, well thought out and put together! Extra bonus, we were able to catch many small panfish right off the bank!
We utilized the outdoor amenities to the fullest. Coffee on the porch while we watched the morning fishermen drop in their boats in the state park. Afternoon bags games in the side yard. Our 18ft boat fit nicely in the boat slip. Beverages at the outdoor bar on the back of the garage. Plenty of room for parking too.
The inside was clean. Had the necessities. Hosts were good with communication, but we didnt have issues come up that needed addressing during our stay.
Overall a very pleasant experience and a nice part of the lake.
As a place to sleep while we were visiting family who lives on the lake, it served our purposes sufficiently. The owners were very easy to work with and they let us check in early. The inside was decorated beautifully. The bedding, appliances, and furniture looked brand new and the beds were very comfortable. However, upon entering, there was a definite musty odor to the home, uneven bubbling flooring, and quite a bit of ant activity in the home (which we ended up treating ourselves). The water in the home also has a metallic/sulfur smell. The outdoor bar was great, but the Adirondack chairs were falling apart as well as the porch ceiling panels. Although the property is a âwaterfrontâ property, the channel that the house is on was not able to accommodate my sisterâs boat. Overall I would say the owners have done a pretty good job flipping this old cottage, but itâs not quite what we were expecting for the price.
We rented a house 13 months in advance to see the 2024 eclipse. 20 minutes after i paid the second and final payment in March of 2024 I got a call from the host saying "the house wasn't suppose to be on the list for rental". He didn't tell me that 13 months earlier when i paid half the cost, but not to worry he has a bigger house a 4 bedroom 2 bath we can stay in. But then they had a tornado. Three days before we left he called to say sorry but he rented that house out to tornado victims and now we, a party of 9 people had to take a 2 bedroom 1 bath house also there was a problem with the sewer. When we got there we could not use the shower, washing machine, dishwasher, or toilet except to poop. All dishwater had to be carried out in buckets. In the middle of our stay he called to ask us to tidy up so he could show the house to another tornado victim he could rent to. He also said he would drop the pet fee if we give him a five star rating. As a family with a good sense of humor we made the best of the situation and enjoyed the solar eclipse and family time.
We had a great time on our vacation in this property. It is the perfect place for 8-10 people. We spent most of our time in the beautiful bar area outside. Great view of the channel and its so peaceful. If renting a boat; like we did, the channel is a little tight but if you take your time its no problem. It is conveniently located near the grocery store and Dollar General which was great since we brought our golf cart and was able to buzz up quickly if we needed something. Looking forward to renting again soon.
We enjoy the peacefulness the north side offers while still being close to plenty of entertainment. Lake restaurant hoping is our favorite. Being able to park your boat at the place you are staying is a must.
