THE MAINSTAY
Small-town charm, urban feel, and everything (!!) you need within walking distance, The Mainstay is located in the heart of downtown Elk Rapids and your perfect getaway for an “Up North” Michigan adventure. Park your car and your worries and enjoy “The Place Between” (see video link below) and the beautiful simplicity of Northern Michigan’s greatest getaway.

The Mainstay is a three bedroom, one bath, upper apartment with scenic views of the marina and Grand Traverse Bay. This large, 2000 square foot apartment with 12-foot ceilings has three lovely bedrooms, two with king-size mattresses and every charger you can imagine, and the other with a Daybed/Trundle (two twins), each with a plethora of closet space. A well-appointed kitchen has everything you need to create the perfect meal or just enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine on the beautiful balcony. Savor your fresh-cooked meals in the dining room or oversized balcony

The Mainstay has reliable wifi, electronic locks, air conditioning, ceiling fans in every room, and all the necessities to have a comfortable stay. The unit also includes a washer and dryer when your clothes need a refresh, a large bathroom with private toilet area, and a wagon to haul your stuff to and from the beach or boat.

ELK RAPIDS
Elk Rapids is a charming village filled with quaint shops, amazing restaurants, and friendly locals. You’ll find everything just a short walk from the Mainstay, even a local movie theater with some of the best popcorn made with REAL butter. The large, public, golden-sand beach is one of the area’s finest, cleanest, safest areas for swimming or lounging. Public tennis courts, basketball courts, and a large playground are perfect for kids of all ages.

Home to Harbor Days, a weeklong Summer Festival, The Mainstay will put you right in the middle of all the action. Guests of the equestrian festivals at Flint Fields will have the perfect getaway with just a short drive to the show.

If you do want to jump in and find out why Northern Michigan is one of America’s best kept secrets, every adventure imaginable is within minutes of The Mainstay. Huge, beautiful freshwater lakes - no sharks or jellyfish! - incredible wineries and breweries, distilleries, farm stands, championship golf courses, and so much more.

• Traverse City and Cherry Capital Airport - only 20 minutes away
• Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (voted best in the USA by Good Morning America) - a beautiful one hour drive for a day’s adventure you’ll never forget
• Torch Lake - just 10 minutes up the road
• Wineries of Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas - 30-40 minutes away

Please note that this home is rented for your quiet enjoyment. Due to liability reasons, township rules and insurance policies, day guests are not permitted without expressed permissions from Management. Guest capacity for the home is NOT to be exceeded at any time. Guests not adhering to this rule could face a fine or eviction as outlined in our terms and conditions that are agreed upon by renting our home. Capacity is strictly enforced and randomly checked.

We will provide a starter package of paper towel, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap and or dishwasher tabs if dishwasher is available at the property. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to purchase more of these items. Other items not included in this list are not guaranteed. Please reach out to management to inquire if a particular amenity is important to your stay, or plan accordingly.
