The Mulberry Cottage is located at Weardale Estate, nestled in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. Name after the Unique Mulberry tree at its entrance, situated at the lower part of the estate, this cosy cottage has country charm and picturesque views that look up at the scenic estate gardens and wide expanse of the estate green. Surrounded by majestic trees and the sounds of birds, this cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, a peaceful escape, or a place to stay if visiting the Dandenong Ranges.

It offers many features to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including a spacious corner spa for one or small cosy spa for two, Open fireplace with enough quality seasoned red gum firewood for an evening fire, queen sized bed with open ensuite in bedroom, smart TV with access to complimentary streaming services, reverse cycle heating and cooling, a small kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee pod machine, milk frother and a bar fridge.

Whether its romance or relaxation you are after, we offer a range of extras to compliment your stay. Our extras menu includes Flowers, Rose Petals, Massages and Additional firewood should you run out. Please contact us for more information on our "Extras" menu!

A fireplace, a hot tub, amazing food and right next to a beautiful forrest. This cosy cabin was an absolutely amazing place to stay and we can't wait to come back

Nice property, lovely little cottage. Nice extras such as the robes, appreciated as it was cold weather. Fire was great and had back up heating with the split system. Hosts were responsive, we only have one suggestion, a sandwhich press to make toasties, by the fire 😊 We enjoyed our stay comfy bed, nice linen very clean, we will be back. Thank you

Our hosts were extremely responsive in their communications and very helpful. We were in the area to attend a wedding and they were kind enough to accommodate an earlier than usual check-in which gave us time to change and relax a little before our event. It took the stress out of our day and we were so appreciative! We would happily recommend Mulberry Cottage to others happily.

Absolutely perfect

From the moment I booked Maria and Tony were fabulous, communicating was easy and simply. And I could tell they really cared. They organised some massages and rose pedals for us too, such a brilliant add on. Cottage was super cute and well equipped with everything you need for a couple of days away. Highly recommend.

great cozy cottage

We had a great time staying two nights in the Mulberry Cottage. We stayed the night of a family wedding nearby. Used the services of "Your Private Driver" as recommended by Maria. James, the driver was very friendly and provided excellent service.The following day we just wanted to chillout. Visited the local store and cakes were fantastic.Then we toured the many close-bay towns and walking locations we found. Closest tracks are described as located by going straight through the roundabout from the General store and a short walk to carpark and Picnic grounds on the left. Other locations we googled. The Mulberry Cottage was a great location for us. We also enjoyed observing the Rosellas (Not the same variety from home), and a couple of rabbits from the kitchen window. We did not meet Maria onsite, but Tony introduced himself and helped with a few questions we had. The addition of fly screens would be beneficial for the Cottage as would also, a Full-Length vertical mirror.

Quite disappointing.

The 'House' was clean, tidy and well maintained. I stayed alone for two nights and for one person it was okay, for two ? I admit I can be quite critical, I found that I needed to stay in more than I wanted due to the weather, poetic licence was used in the property description, having to put the sink to the side does not make it one and a half bathrooms, no more than a tiny table against the wall is a seperate dining area. Visiters should also be made aware of the driveway if in a standard vehicle so that the suspension doesn't bottom out on entrance. Would I recommend ? No, so many better properties around at this price.

It was an absolutely beautiful place to stay at. Had everything we needed. Clean, bed super comfortable, and a yummy fresh breakfast. The owner was so welcoming and accommodating. Couldnt fault it, high recommended and will definitely stay here again.

Lovely little cottage

We were in the area for a wedding and decided to stay overnight. The cottage is lovely and the breakfast was very generous. Loved the coffee machine and was impressed with the cleanliness and facilities.

Drawn to its character and charm, we could not deny the rich local history that Weardale Estate was steeped in. This establishment had been known by many names over the past few decades, but when we found out that “Weardale“ was the site of the first habitable building in The Patch (formally known as “The Valley”) in the late 1880's and later as a guest house once the original homestead was built around 1912.

Weardale Estate is beautiful, peaceful and serene. It is also close to quaint villages, restaurants , iconic landmarks, many wedding venues, parks and gardens here in the Dandenong Ranges. Back at the turn of the last century, the expanse of lawns here at Weardale, used to be double tennis courts, where tennis enthusiasts and writers would come to “Weardale” to escape the congestion of Melbourne. Fast forward 110 years, this charming, peaceful and beautiful Estate, is still a place that people choose to “Come away”. Many love it here and we hope that you do to.
