Beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo on sunny Indian Shores. Direct Gulf Front view from the living room. There is a additional balcony off one of the bedrooms with view of he intercoastal waterways. There are two large master bedrooms, each with a queen bed and an attached bathroom. The smaller bedroom has a win bed with twin trundle. Flat screen TV's in all bedrooms and the living room. Community sun deck on ground floor with lounge chairs, grill, and direct access to beach. Free wi-fi.
This place was very spacious for 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). The location was great and we had the beach to ourselves most of the time. The storage area downstairs was great to securely leave beach chairs/umbrellas at the end of the day and it had a lot of other beach toys/equipment we could use. The place could use a new couch or two and maybe different patio furniture but it was fine for the one week we were there.
This unit was cozy and lived in making you feel like you are home instead of a rental. The area is great with some restaurants in walking distance as well as close proximity by drive or bike to others. The kitchen was well stocked as was the beach closet. This area is more residential so the beach was quiet and you had room to spread out without others nearby. We would definitely stay here again.
This was my 9th year staying at Pipers III and the 7th time in unit 9. We love it here! Perfect location. Everything you need is already here for you. Practically private beach. No crowds. Peaceful. Rental property company very nice and friendly. Helped get a quick fix in one of the bathrooms right away! Will stay again. Only thing....termites. Noticed some issues in the kitchen cabinets and upstairs closet. I called and was told building has termites and needs tented. I was happy with the honesty. I hope property owners take care of this soon!! It is a wonderful property and I would hate to see it not continue to be taken care of.
The listing did not state there was no elevator and you have to climb four (4) flights of stairs to the entrance. Furniture was well worn with covers. Beds were very uncomfortable. Not enough towels and washcloths. Appliances were very worn out and the wash machine leaked. It is currently for sale and the real estate agent came to have a showing, he didn't know the correct date of our departure. Fortunately, the showing was cancelled. Bathrooms were not very clean and there were small bugs crawling from the cracks in the molding. They did not leave a days supply of toilet paper, paper towel or trash bags so we had to purchase on the first day. The only great attribute of this place is the beach.
This property is an excellent location and it is big with plenty room for 4 adults and some kids to spread out in. It was also well stocked with many things you would need, especially for younger kids as there were toys and a wash basin for a infant that was unexpected and nice to have.
That said, this property could be maintained much better. Everything in the unit seems kind of old and worn out. Generally this is not a huge concern of mine with most beach rentals, some furniture showing wear is not big deal really, but this unit just feels like its in need of a refresh.
The patio furniture is also horrendous. Not because its broken, but because they have not one, but two huge tables on this tiny little balcony that take up at least 2/3s of all the space on the balaclava. Why are these so big? A small bistro table and some chairs is all you need. The furniture makes the balcony almost unusable as there is just no space to move around at all.
We also had some issues with a leaking and broken kitchen faucet and had requested multi times to have someone figure out if the beach sand wash off station could be turned on during our stay (it was still not turned on after our 7 days there). Also all the sheets/ towels/pillows/linens provided were like everything else - old, cheap, and worn out. The mattresses on the beds also felt very cheap and just were not all that great to sleep on. I wasn't expecting 5 start hotel quality, but we have stayed at many rental units over multiple visits to Indian Shores and this one was by far the oldest / most worn out.
Another issues is the street traffic can be heard very easily from the lower level master bed room and they only have a very light / white / sheer curtain on the sliding door. So by 7am, the room is totally filled with light in the morning. This could be remedied very easily by installing a heavier, light blocking curtain which would also help with the noise. Ultimately, the sliding door in this room seems very old and worn out (much like other things in the unit). It seems like there must be some air gaps or it is just incredibly thin glass because the traffic noise from the street is about the same if you have the door open or closed.
Overall, the location and amazing beach access outweigh any of most of the complaints, but if you are spending upwards of $550 a night for a rental, you expect the furnishings to be a certain level of quality and I ultimately feel they are not at that level here.
The unit was great. It was nicely decorated and very comfortable. We loved the location as it is close to restaurants and entertainment. The beach was beautiful! It was almost like having our own private beach.
All was great on our trip. Called with a repair request and it was handled that day. Unit was very clean.
