Two hours north of Adelaide. Walk in off the street and then out the front door straight on to the beach. There is the capacity for off street parking for two cars. Child and pet friendly.
Walk in, walk out. All that you need are your toiletries, a change of clothes and linen.
A lovely little shack in a nice town made for a relaxing family getaway. Great info regarding check in and things to do while in Port Broughton provided by the host.
Had a great time enjoying our Easter holidays at the shack. Such a great location right on the beach. Our 2 dogs just love the water. So calm and shallow. Town is only a short walk from the shack along with the beautiful jetty. Didnât get to see âEricâ the dolphin this time which was a shame. The shack is nice and cosy and has everything you need for your stay. Thanks John for being a great host. Look forward to staying again real soon.
We only stayed for two nights but the property had everything we needed for cooking and preparing meals to protecting us against any bugs. My only feedback was that there wasnât much air flow in the main bedroom so we had to sleep with the door open. A fan would be great in that room!
Great old school style shack wich was really cool. The shack was well set up and the best bonus my kelpies could come with me. A 2 min walk out the door onto the beach we all luved it. Take your mozzie spray upon dusk they are relentless but we conquered them . Communication with John was fantastic.. Terrific peaceful stay.
We had a great time staying at Johnâs shack. Walking distance to town and the jetty made for lovely morning walks with the dogs. Also close to the boat ramp for fishing. The shack was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The views over the beach and the sunsets were amazing. We look forward to coming again.
It was a great stay for my partner, family and the fur babies we all had a lovely stay it was very enjoyable and the sunsets are to die for! perfect area for the dogs and lovely views! We stayed during the heat wave we just had and the aircon worked wonderfully and the sea breeze at night was just beautiful! great little shack all round! And the owner was great with communication and helping securing our stay absolutely wonderful man! Thank you again John for the lovely stay!
This holiday cabin is ideal for no more than a family of 3. 4 adults, 2 kids was not appropriate booking for the rooms provided. Unfortunately one of the âroomsâ were located in a shed and was unable to use due to the heat that the shed was getting, only one working small fan that wouldnât cool the room down. The other bunk beds located in a high traffic area which also had no additional cooling that a pedestal fan just did not cool down. Dusty and very outdated. Found glassware dirty and not washed properly from previous guests. Overall communication and check in process was great, I couldnât fault that but I do think that this property is over promising something that is only suited for a family of 3. Putting beds in areas and calling it a room, just not what we expected.I wasnât going to leave a review because at the end of the day we had an amazing time away, views were great and location was perfect BUT we accidentally left our Netflix logged in on their chrome cast and had found it taken over with all our profiles deleted and new ones made up for the owner. Despite being a mistake leaving it logged in, the decent thing to do would be to log out.
We understand no frills and shack, but this place needs a thorough clean and basic maintenance to be done. The bunk bed was so shaky we didnt let the kids sleep in it. All the mattresses need to be replaced asap, they are in absolute shocking condition. We didnt even feel like going into the rumpus room, it was so dirty! The fridge hadnt been cleaned, and the couch had stains. The aircon made a weird whistling noise while being switched on. The list goes on.
The 1* is for the view, the only redeeming thing about this shack.
John the host was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the Easter markets. The shack is perfectly situated and the whole experience was wonderful, no hassles at all.
What a great family holiday. Great little shack right on the beach. Front row seats to some of the best sunsets. John was a great host. Even sent through pictures of the great sunsets and view from the shack before our stay. The accommodation was great value for money. It had everything you would need. Plenty of plates and cooking equipment. All in great condition instead of used and abused hand me downs. Port Broughton is a great little town. The shack is only a short walk into town and the local jetty. The kids loved snorkeling from the end of it where the pontoon is. The good thing about Port Broughton is that the water never gets too deep. Lots of little crabs though. The dogs absolutely loved their stay also. The beach was just perfect for them. Definitely recommend this shack for a relaxing holiday or quick getaway. Thanks again John. We will definitely stay again.
Great property in a fabulous spot with added bonus of being dog friendly with a great outside area for my fur mate.
Owner fabulous and happy to accommodate my special request to put some things into the fridge prior to checking in.
Such a relaxing break.
Great town. Fabulous hotel with great food and Cafe wit good coffee. What more could you ask for.
We will be back.
Thank you.
Comfy, roomy and great views. It felt like home as all that is needed is supplied. Everything is practically arranged and not overly styled or updated. This resulted in us feeling free to be comfortable and not on edge about any inadvertent tiny scratch. Some places have felt so overly styled and new, that we have been on edge about putting a glass down. Everything is clean and fresh and working. Highly recommend for a long stay as so well priced.
We desperately needed a reset, just a few nights away at Port Broughton is all it took. Sleeping in and sunsets over the water was just what the doctor ordered.
Thank you. Highly recommend
