Also welcome guests with extended work contracts in the area, offering a peaceful, home-away-from-home experience with all the amenities needed for a comfortable getaway.

Beautiful cottage, nicely renovated with interesting decor. Very tidy and clean. Warm and clean water access with a sandy bottom. Great for swimming and paddle boarding. The loft bedroom was a highlight. Nicely furnished, and we enjoyed nights in the hot tub. The host was also welcoming and very accessible to help with any concerns.

Want a great sleep?

Had a great time at the Lakehouse - beautiful views, good sized kitchen and comfortable beds. We did not use the hot tub (not hot tub people) but taking the spiral staircase to the Master bedroom led us to one of the best sleeps we have had in a while. Opening the patio door, making the room cool while listening to the lapping waves sent us to dreamland. Would rent again.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home! It was the perfect fit for our multi-generational family trip — my parents, my husband and I, our two toddlers (ages two and three), and even our dogs felt right at home.The three bedrooms were just right for our group, and the beds were incredibly comfortable — everyone slept so well, including the kids! The fully fenced area gave us peace of mind with both the children and the dogs, who had plenty of space to play safely.The location was serene and private, with the sound of the waves making everything feel extra relaxing. There were several lovely outdoor areas to enjoy, and the beach access was a real highlight. While there are some stairs down to the beach, my parents were able to manage them — though it could be a little tricky for those with mobility concerns.The open kitchen made cooking easy, and we enjoyed some great family meals using the grill. One of our favorite features was the fireplace — it made for the perfect spot to gather and make s’mores in the evening, creating such fun and cozy memories. And the hot tub was a real bonus — the ideal way to relax after a day on the beach.Everything about the home had a cozy, welcoming feel — like a true home away from home. We’re so grateful for such a peaceful and memorable stay. We’d absolutely love to return!

An enjoyable week

We enjoyed our week-long stay at this cottage on the shore of Lake Erie. It included a washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, BBQ, fire pit and woodstove, with two bedrooms and a full bathroom on the main floor, and a larger bedroom, half bath and balcony in the loft upstairs. The cottage was well stocked with pillows, blankets and towels as well as everything we needed for making meals. The nearby towns of Dunnville and Caluga offered a wide variety of restaurants and stores. We very much enjoyed using the hot tub, and relaxing on the back deck overlooking the lake. The cottage is a reasonable drive for day trips to nearby big cities like Niagara Falls; we also took advantage of local attractions such as the Dunnville Farmer’s Market, a catered picnic at the Purple Haven Lavender Farm and an evening of art classes at the Creative Barracks. The cottage owners were very responsive when we contacted them with questions or minor issues that came up. We appreciated the little touches like the welcome message on the fridge, a basket of snacks, an assortment of books, games and DVDs, and the WiFi which easily supported 4 technology dependent adults.

We were looking for somewhere close to the lake - and it doesn't get closer than this!Whether we were sitting inside or on the outside deck, it felt like we were literally 'on the water'.Lake side was gorgeous!Beautiful views, birds everywhere, ships in the distance.On the street side, there is a fenced in private oasis to shelter from the wind. Sitting area, hot tub and outdoor fire pit. We were delighted that the wetlands across the street attract many birds to this area. We thought the upstairs bedroom was perfect with 2 pc bathroom and private deck.Although we didn't use them, the two downstairs bedrooms were very cute!One is on the lakeside with an incredible view and the other is in a quieter area away from crashing waves.This property is clean, in a safe area and so cozy. It was equipped with everything we needed and more!Our host was very easy to communicate with.We wish Darlene & John much success.We will be back again!
