Love the Chic & Cozy Cabin on the lake. We have stayed here before. Will return anytime our plans bring us to Eastern South Dakota.

Weekend getaway with friends

We had a nice stay in spite of the weather being cool and rainy at times. Cozy house with everything we needed but we were not able to use the washer/dryer and the dock was wobbly. Enjoyed the sauna once the manager sent someone to get it working. Overall a stay--We'll be back.

Perfect Escape!

This property and the surrounding area were amazing. Once I parked my car, I didn't use it again until my stay was completely over. There was no reason to leave. The house had everything you needed. The sauna was fantastic, and the best sunrise experience I have ever had. The owner was extremely communicative and helpful! Highly recommend this property!

Absolutely perfect for our needs.

The property was very clean and tidy. Our stay was during the coldest weekend of the year (-15) and the heat kept up nicely. Thank goodness for the extra space heaters. If you're ice fishing, or if you come during the summer with a boat, there is a boat ramp (lake access) very near the property. This came in very handy for us. The sunrise view over the lake is absolutely breathtaking through the wide window view to the East.

Cute lake house

We enjoyed our stay ! Comfy beds , everything you need in the kitchen - even bottled water ! It rained , so we weren’t able to swim in the Lake ; but made use of the hot tub !

Great place

The house was just like shown. Was nice and guiet place. Had 1 little problem with the septic but as soon as I notified them there was someone there within an hour to take care of it. It was nice and relaxing. Just what we needed.

disappointing

pros: Complimentary water bottles, paved road location, quiet, good lake view, nice sunrise, sauna, hot tub, wifi internet, Netflix and other Roku smart TV channels, Keurig coffee maker, lots of linens, queen mattress comfortable.cons/issues: -Air conditioner is not "central air", but an overhead room unit. The unit was vibrating/noisy but worked the first night. The second night it quit cooling, so we had to open windows. With Canadian wild fire smoke, we wanted to avoid open windows due to allergies. We contacted manager -"parts on order/will send someone out" but it still wasn't working our last 2 nights. Luckily, nights were cool, but had to open windows.- Septic system drain slowed down, so plunging toilet didn't help much. Kitchen sink was slow to drain, gurgling during showers. We contacted manager who says system must be emptied once a week, on Wednesday, out check out day. The truck showed up right as we departed - too late for us.-clothes washer said "do not use". Photo showed it, "Amenities" didn't list it, but lists dryer and laundry detergent for some reason.-hot tub worked fine, but instruction said put chlorine in after use, but it wasn't obvious where this was kept. Had to ask to find location of tablets.-could use a dishwasher, which counts when guests must do the dishes.-sleeps 5 guests - barely, if you bring kids - queen (2), full (1?), couch (1) and roll away bed(1). -bugs galore- attracted to lights after dark, got inside when we brought our luggage in.-laminate flooring in bathroom worn/cracked. Shower door might help keep water off floor.-stairs from parking can be tricky to descend - unequal lengths?

Beautiful location!

We spent two nights at this cabin. The location is incredible. The views from the home and immediate surroundings are spectacular. We saw the most beautiful reflection of the moon on the lake right from the enormous living room windows. During our stay the area had experienced significant rainfall. This caused some unfortunate consequences with plumbing. The property contract responded and was able to remedy the situation in a reasonable amount of time. Five of us stayed and were comfortable for two nights. The home had an odor when we arrived and there was quite a bit of pet hair on the floors and roll away bed. There were plenty of amenities to meet our needs, and the convenient access to the lake would be great for boaters or other water activities. We would stay here again.

Nice Cozy Lake House (Beware of Bugs!)

The lake house was great! My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend. It was our final getaway before our son is born (a babymoon, as they call it these days). The house had everything we needed to be comfortable; all the cooking supplies we could ask for (except for a pizza cutter), plenty of toiletries, and the bedrooms were well furnished with linens for a good night's sleep. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the bug situation. I was going to go enjoy the hot tub around 8:30 at night, and wanted to go outside to make sure it was up to temperature. I opened the front door, and it felt like I got blasted in the face by a huge gust of wind. It definitely was not wind, and when I closed the door after it being open for all of two seconds and turned back around, the white walls seemingly acquired a lot of spots. Bugs galore. It was not even worth the time to try and kill them with the provided fly swatters, we were overrun. We turned off all the lights and settled for watching a movie. The bug trap that was plugged into the kitchen wall was full as well, so I'm not sure how much it helped. If you're planning on having the lights on after dark, be sure to close the blinds/curtains!

No hot tub or dock

The dock was out of the water, they should post no dock in fall and winter. The hot tub did not work, no jets and cold water. Tried to text contact person, no response so called the number and he was on vacation. Called the contact person’s brother and he said he would come out and check it 73 degrees. He did come out and look at it, but never spoke to us or never even called us back. I asked about a partial refund, but no response. We left a day early!

Relaxing lakeside cabin (for adults)

My wife and five-year-old stayed for four nights in July. We enjoyed the property's location, its indoor comforts, and many of the outdoor amenities it provided. The views of the lake during sunrise were spectacular. The cabin was stocked with nearly everything a family would need, such as drinking water, bath & beach towels, dish rags, soaps, detergents, cooking supplies, utensils, blankets, and bedding. Overall, it was a quiet and comfortable experience. It was difficult to keep the property tidy because the vacuum was not useful, and we couldn't find a broom and dustpan. These additions could have made our stay even more comfortable. Others should be aware that we needed to pack up and leave the property to find a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for kids. This property did not provide a beach during our stay, it had a lakefront shoreline that is cladded with large, slippery rocks that were nerve-wracking to climb down to access the water. Connecting the land and dock is a homemade wooden bridge that was installed tilted and askew, had no handrail, and was not anchored or tied down. The dock was in acceptable condition but was missing a plank at one end, creating an injury risk. Also, the dock did not have a swim ladder. Finally, the hot tub was very clean and easy to operate, which we greatly appreciated. While private for our use, it was not private from view by a neighboring property. I would definitely consider staying here again without children.

Gorgeous cabin, serious lack of outdoor amenities

The Good: the cabin, the views, the host, the fire pit. The inside of the cabin is perfect and the views are stunning. The not so good: The hot tub. When we arrived, the hot tub was at a comfortable 102° but it quickly dropped to 97° and did not get back up to temp. The outdoor space, has significantly insufficient furniture and is lacking basic elements to make the space usable. My husband and I wished to eat our meals outdoors on the lakeside, but there was no table to eat or have drinks on. We had no choice but to eat every meal inside at the dining room table, disappointing. This place desperately needs a decent set of patio furniture (chairs, table, umbrella). The outdoor furniture is unacceptable for a retreat that boasts "top-notch amenities." The beach and the dock. Hazard, hazard, hazard! Walking down to the (broken) dock and beach is a treacherous path. The stairs are crumbling, uneven, and jagged. The broken concrete hurts to walk barefooted. As the mother of a 5 and a 7-year-old I would never bring my children on to that dock. Overall, the inside of the cabin is high-end and deserves high praise! The outdoor living space is incomplete, disappointing, and needs significant attention. The bottom line: The lack of outdoor furniture significantly limits the functionality of the outdoor space and drives guests back indoors to eat, relax, and rest.
