Perched atop a ridge overlooking the Steamboat Ski Area base, Storm Watch features stunning views and a convenient location at affordable prices. The ski area base, along with the shops and restaurants in Ski Time Square and Gondola Square, are within walking distance in the summer. 4WD vehicles advised for the winter. Onsite laundry facilities provide additional convenience.
The two-story condo was well equipped, well maintained, clean, cozy, and well worth it. It overlooks the mountains and is conveniently located near the gondolas and a short drive from the center of town. It was perfect for an enjoyable hiking week around Steamboat with many great trails. Communications with the host were clear via email and text. For check-in we had to go to the resort center, where we waited briefly for a security guard as we got there after 6 pm, so a coded door lock would be easier. Overall a wonderful visit, and we would stay here again.
AC remotes were locked in owners closets..took 24 hours to get. Two days to get bedsheets for our sofa bed. Lights burned out in kitchen took 2 days to replace. Lock to our only outside door turned out to be broken. They wanted to get a locksmith in to replace it but at that point we said forget it. We were tired of people coming and going. We just took our valuables with us during the day and barricaded ourselves in at night. Condo was great but management made it a tough stay.
Nice condo and location, great views. Although close to the base, not as walkable as we would have liked. Must traverse a narrow road with no shoulder or sidewalk.
No internet. We called the first night & they sent someone over at 9:30PM without any notice! No internet the whole stay. We couldnât stream anything, nor could my husband work! Used at least $60 worth of data. Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans, but has only salt & pepper, NOTHING else. Latches on the windows upstairs are broken off, so it was hard to regulate the temperature properly. Great view of night skiing & awesome fireworks on Friday! Treacherous walk to bus stop. Condo loud, could hear folks having a good time on the mountain, but that could be due to the window issue. Parking at the complex can be tricky due to all the hairpin turns & very narrow for bigger cars. Condo reeked of cigarettes.

What a mess
To begin with, we had to carry our bags down two or three flights of stairs, because others have blocked the fire lane when we were supposed to unload. Our bags is the 20 minute parking and they parked there for two days. Our TV never worked downstairs so we called maintenance and ask them to come and fix the TVs. We said please call us and we will be there for them to come into the condo because we had jewelry and money. They entered the condo without calling us, then to find out once we did come home there was a leak in the upstairs bedroom. They completely destroyed and moved. All of our belongings, never called and told us we walked in blindsided. The music festivals going on. They were finally able to provide us with another property to Stan. We had events that we were sponsoring that night we missed everything the Pioneer Ridge only refunded us two nights of our stay. They put us up in another condo. They said they was upgrading us. We didnât care about being upgraded. We had to walk up three flights of stairs to get to the condo then another 2.5 flights of stairs to get into the master bedroom. It was a full-size bed, no TV or other condo that we had rented had king size bed, which we asked for and TV in the bedroom very disappointed in the management property. The manager was very rude and a smart ass.
My only comment is that the parking is pretty tight and awkward to get in and out ofâŠ. Iâm guessing in the winter even more so. The stairs going down to access the front door and only entry to the property are not very well lit for nighttime. Make note of the loading area. The unit is very nicely furnished and upgraded and the bed in the bedroom is wonderful.
The check in process was arduous and took very long. We then tried to call Pioneer Ridge/the rental property manager throughout the weekend and was put on hold every time and we were never able to get in contact with them.
The apartment is comfortable, clean and well appointed. We only had a couple of quibbles. Checking in requires stopping by to get physical keys at a different building and then dropping them off by 10am on the day of your check out. Thatâs irritating if you are trying to ski or hike on your last day. One other thing to note is that though itâs very close to the slopes itâs actually a bit of a long and steep walk so in reality you have to drive down to the resort and park.
Great overall unit with updated kitchen. Incredible view from its location, on a bluff overlooking the gondola base area.
Agree with other reviewerâs that you should be prepared for steps from parking to front entrance (down). Iâll add that there is an on grade parking spot for temporary use during loading/unloading of gear. Also of note, is not in walking distance to skiing, and no shuttle to skiing is available. This means skiing requires a drive.
We stayed here for two nights. The condo was clean and updated nicely. The king sized bed was comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Bathroom towels were high quality. It was nice to have a gas grill. The view of the ski hill was nice. Thankful for the screen door , as the wasps were in abundance, so we could not sit outside. We found wasp nests in the grill and under the green chairs on the front steps. Not a place to stay if you donât like steps, as you have to go down from parking to condo. I would give this place a 3/5.

Property was great! We only had 2 people and there was plenty of room for us.
Overall it was great! Plenty of room and loved having two bathrooms. The view of the mountain was great and it was only 10 minutes from downtown Steamboat. Only issue was that the power went out for one of the nights but the views at night made for some great conversation on the balcony. Thanks!
The proberty was very nice. Just as advertized. I would highly reccomend it to anyone. The bus to the lift was on time all the time. A short 5 min ride.
This condo is a very nice off-slope location with great views from the den and bedroom, of the ski slope. We enjoyed the fireplace and were able to cook simple meals in the condo. The decor is fairly simple but the beds and other furniture is comfortable. It was nice to have 2 full baths for this 1 bedroom unit since we utilized the pull out couch. WiFi and Cable were good, the place was quiet, and there was a shuttle service to the slopes and restaurants. We found the shuttle service a bit crowded and slow, but adequate for our needs. I would stay here again!
