It was a wonderful stay! The host was very active in replying to our questions and ensuring we had a great experience! I'd recommend this cottage to my friends and family!
We enjoyed our 5 night stay at the cottage. Hot tub and sauna were awesome! The bunkie was super comfortable. Lots of great meals and cocktails ! There are many nice day trips close by. BALA cranberry farm and boat tour out of Gravenhurst were our favorites. Hope to book again next year
Overall an excellent stay. As advertised, however my only complaint is that the photos need to be updated. The cottage is no longer tan, but green which is a little confusing when finding the house. The oven is now electric, no longer gas, which I had chosen the property because it was one of the few that had a gas stove in the pictures (I am a big cook). But a very nice place and the sauna and hot tub were great, as well. The next door neighbor was a very friendly guy , as well, which was a nice surprise. Oh and bring your own knives if you’re cooking a lot. I tried to find a knife sharpener at the local store to contribute to the cottage but ended up buying a new knife instead.
Nice quiet spot. Right on water had a hut tub and sauna everything worked well just follow the instructions they do help. But make sure you know cell phone reception is not very good. So you need WiFi.
Wonderful area to stay in. Second time we have booked a cottage in this area. Landlord was quick to respond. Neighbours are happy to chat and give advice. Stunning scenery and within easy drive of a grocery store with wonderful bakery and a full size LCBO. Fishing was good, we caught pike, smallmouth bass - all catch and release. Would go back in an instant.
We had lots of fun here this past weekend. The location and the property was very well maintained. Like photos and description. Wifi and enterance to property was very easy. Owner was very punctual to answer messages.
The fire alarm was definitely very touchy so open a window or the back sliding door when cooking. Not that it is a complaint. Just an observation. Cell service is also hit or miss.
We so enjoyed the clean updated cottage. Just like the pictures. The dock and deck look like they are newer. The reason I gave less stars for the check-in process might not be the fault of the owner. There was a mix-up with receiving info about accessing property. We are so glad there were two kayaks available as we used them every day, sometimes more than once a day. We found that you can go under the passageway to grass lake and it was great for kayaking. The hot tub was easy and nice to use as well. Know there is a commercial train that passes nearby but it was not bothersome for me. I would have liked more facecloths available. There are a bunch of games to play - outdoor and indoor - to make your stay more enjoyable and memorable. We didn’t use the bunker but it looked very tidy. If you like to try fishing this is a good little spot. We recommend!
This was the best stay we have ever experienced on our many travels over the last 5 years. From the incredible hot tub that was so clean and relaxing, the sauna that wasfantastic. The fire pit, the kayaks that we used on the gorgeous Severn River, with the gorgeous view of the river at door step. ALL PRIVACY! We have never experienced true privacy like this ever in our lives. It felt like a private spa club just for us! They even have the seperate bunker for guests, we did not have any guests with us so chose not to stay there but thought it was a great option to have and will be bringing more loved ones with us next time. We have travelled
as far as New Brunswick and Alberta and this was hands down the best experience we have ever had and will be coming back for our birthdays, anniversaries and special vacations. We stopped along the way and found big bundles of dry wood and used that during our stay for the fire. The BBQ was incredible, so easy to light and never ran out of propane. The host goes above and beyond with providing necessities like spices for cooking and condiments which I have never seen before at any of my many expedia stays. The kayaking in the river was the most peaceful and calm, the water was like glass. Seriously cannot wait to show everyone this amazing reservation we had and we wished the entire time we booked longer! Every turn we were impressed. The stainless steal kitchen was so luxurious, 3 double beds and a pull out sectional couch total. YESS!!
The photo's in the ad do accurately represent the look of the cottage and bunkie, unfortunately the photo's did not convey the overwhelming urine smell in the bunkie, which left our family of six crammed into the tiny cottage for the duration of our stay. It was very uncomfortable and tight due to not being able to use the bunkie. The clothes that we stored in the bunkie and didn't even wear came home smelling of urine/animal spray. It was unbearable to spend any amount of time in there.
Another big sore point was the lack of a single dresser or even a shelf for which to put our clothing. All six of us had to live out of our luggage which was very disappointing. They do lack many basic house hold items as noted in other reviews.
We made the most of the week for our children, but left feeling quite disappointed that we did not get what we paid for.
We wish we could give this cottage a higher rating but it was more of a let down then a vacation.
Kitchen and bathroom were very good. We were there for 3 weeks thr bedroom did not have any drawer space. The bedroom would be fine for short visits. The location was extremely lovely which we really enjoyed.Unfortunately my partner has lost a very valuable watch Hopefully someone will find it and advise the owner Here’s hoping. Cheers
