Start your day with a stunning sunrise over the lake while you enjoy your morning coffee at The Little Lake House! Sitting on the peaceful shores of Spring Lake, this cozy spot is the perfect escape for you and your family to unwind and soak up nature. We've poured a lot of love into renovating it with a modern coastal vibe and plenty of little luxuries to make it feel like a home away from home.

Welcome to The Little Lake House, a cozy 1,000 sq. ft. cabin designed for relaxing getaways! This charming retreat features two bedrooms and one bathroom, perfect for a family or small group. The primary bedroom boasts a luxurious king-sized bed, while the second bedroom has a fun single-over-double bunk bed—great for kids or extra guests. The cabin’s full kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and all the essentials for cooking up delicious meals. In the living room, you’ll find a comfy sectional, a cozy reading chair, and an office nook with a desktop and chair for those who need to check in with work.

The main area is flooded with natural light from large picture windows that offer stunning views of the lake. Step outside to enjoy the backyard firepit, perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars. The property also features nearby hiking trails, ideal for nature lovers and dog walkers. With free WiFi, a Smart TV, books, and board games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy indoors, too. Plus, the cabin is stocked with crisp white bedding, fluffy towels, and bathrobes for a touch of luxury. Located just 10 minutes from Stony Plain and 30 minutes from Edmonton, this little escape offers the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• we allow ONE dog (NO cats) under 50 lbs per stay for an additional $50/stay - please disclose this upon booking so that we can have our pet amenities ready for you & charge our pet fee to cover our extra cleaning costs; a signed pet waiver will be required before your stay. No cats allowed.
• maximum 5 registered guests are allowed on the property at any time. We do not allow unregistered guests or parties of any kind.
• there is a 12km/hr speed limit on the lake and the shore has to remain natural (it has reeds & mud) to protect our wildlife
• we have a floating dock. Please be careful walking on it as it has some movement!
• you can swim, paddleboard & kayak in Spring Lake in the summer months, but with the water levels being unpredictable it can sometimes be hard to get out off the dock. The shore can be very muddy as Spring Lake maintains natural shorelines.
• we have an XL men's, L & M women's and Youth life jackets you can borrow, but please bring your own if you want to go in the water and require different sizes
• the back yard is expansive, but note that it is NOT fenced at this time
• please ensure you are monitoring pets and children at all times lakeside
• we have a security camera at the front of the property

Ladies weekend getaway

Modern and cozy home with a spacious open concept living and kitchen area. Perfect for 5 people for movies, games and making meals together in the kitchen. The cozy sofa was a hit, the bathroom and bedrooms very welcoming at first sight. This has been the best cabin experience and look forward to coming out again for a close to home and reasonably affordable getaway. The hosts are fabulous and quick to respond to any questions and concerns. Thank you Little Lake House!!!

We had a wonderful time on our annual New Years trip to the little lake house! We enjoyed this visit without the kiddos but it’s been fantastic for us as a couple and as a family. We can’t wait to visit again, maybe a summer trip!

Close getaway in nature

We were looking for a birthday trip to get out of the city but didn't require hours of driving; this property was perfect. It's exactly as portrayed in the photos and was a peaceful and quiet retreat. Much gratitude to Sean & Christina for sharing this little oasis.

Birdwatchers Paradise!

The cabin is cozy,very well appointed and very clean. We had a nice stay, albeit short due to illness. Don't forget your binoculars when coming here as the bird life is plentiful!! Even a muskrat lodge off to the side of the dock.

Little Lake House Weekend

Our weekend at the little lake house was wonderful. The check in process was very smooth and the property was absolutely lovely. The cottage was so clean and inviting. I would highly recommend the property and we plan to return to this property. The views and peaceful location were great. Watching the sunrise was so good for the soul. Thank you to Sean and Christina for creating such a wonderful retreat!

Amazing!

From start to finish, this was an amazing rental experience. The property is clean, well furnished, and has everything we were looking for. The attention to detail from the hosts is notable, as they even provided for our dog (a cozy dog bed, poop bags, dog towels, treats)! We loved our stay here and hope to be able to visit again in the future. It was so cozy and comfortable!

We enjoyed our stay at this adorable cabin! Sean and Christina were very accommodating and so welcoming! The only downside was there’s not a dock yet, so it was difficult to get onto the lake- however they made sure we knew this before we went out :)

Amazing picture windows views

I stayed from June 16th to June 28th by myself to visit family living close by. I took my grandson for long walks almost every day. Very safe and peaceful area. Many walking trails and constant birdsong. Absolutely loved the house, clean, classy, cozy and relaxing :-)

Little Lake House is Awesome

I have to start with Christina (property owner) who was fabulous to deal with! My wife and I cannot say enough great things about our stay at the Little Lake House. Our daughter and her family visited one evening and we had hot dogs and S’mores at the fire pit down by the lake. Our grandkids loved it and want to come back to stay with us. Don’t hesitate to stay here! Everything was perfect in this Little Lake House at Spring Lake.

Perfect getaway spot

We were looking for a getaway spot not to far from the city but water front. We found this little gem and it exceeded our expectations. The only part that was a bit disappointing was the weeds along the shoreline. We were thankful that the owners put out their dock just in time for our visit. We spent many hours on the dock watching wildlife and soaking up the sun. Definitely a recommended vacation rental.

Lovely, serene, immaculate.

Sean & Christina set the standard high for top quality hosting with all the amenities one could hope for. There wasn’t a detail missing and we would most certainly recommend to others. The place was spotless with designer style decor and high end appliances. This place surpassed our expectations in every way. Thoughtful touches are everywhere and we felt so very grateful to be there.

Little Lakehouse Gem

Very easy and stress free booking through VRBO and the host. Great communication throughout and information provided was thorough and concise. We stayed three nights at this “gem” and would definitely go back. The location, the property, the decor, the cleanliness and the availability of all necessities were exceptional. It was a great getaway for two retirees who definitely needed a change of scenery. The hosts, Sean and Christina certainly made us feel welcome.

Little gem on the water!

A paddlers paradise! We paddled on our SUP boards during the day and our canoe in the evenings. The water is so clear once you get about 10 m from the shore. We saw all kinds of birds: ducks, geese, pelcans, cranes, even a hawk. The cottage was cozy and the couch comfy for family movie night. We had a wonderful time, would highly recommend for couples or small families. You will need to bring your own BBQ (not a problem for us, we are also tent campers).

You’ve heard the saying “opposites attract”, right? Well, that’s us. Sean is a lover of challenging construction work, video games and fast cars. Christina likes the slower stuff: home design, photography and music. Sean is a general contractor and electrician by trade, and Christina is a home stylist & content creator at TheDIYMommy.com.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Have you ever fallen in love with a place the moment you stepped foot on it?

That’s how we felt when we found the dilapidated little cabin we now know as the Little Lake House. The cabin was in the most beautiful location on the shores of serene Spring Lake, but it needed some care. In October 2020, we purchased the property, and shortly thereafter demolition began!

To say this renovation was a challenge is an understatement. We gutted the home right down to the studs so that we could properly insulate it and make it safe and cozy for us and our guests to enjoy.

We love this little property and have already created many precious memories with our children here. From paddleboarding together to working as a family to create a welcoming retreat, we’ve come to love this little lake house even more.

We can’t wait to share it with you.
