Georgian Bay Riverside Retreat

Two beautiful cottages on the Magnetawan River, right at the mouth of Georgian Bay and the 30,000 Islands.
Relax on the huge wrap around deck and fish off the dock in 40’ deep water. Unwind in the 8 person hottub and watch the sun set from many vantage points.
Boat to the west on 175km long river right into Algonquin park or boat to the east 5 minutes into Georgian Bay 30,000 islands. With world class fishing, boating and hunting- you are surrounded by crown land across the river and behind the property.
In the winter months, the cottage is fully heated with forced air furnace and fireplace for ambiance.
Snowmobile trails surround the area and ice fishing is right outside the back door on the river.

A wonderful week up at the cottage

Our week at the Georgian Bay River retreat went swimmingly! Beautiful cottage with nice swimming off the dock. We had many great meals both cooked in the kitchen and on the barbecue. We would definitely return.

Great cottage for family

The cottage was beyond the expectations. The river was busy on the weekend with the motor boats but we managed to catch some fish. The host was nice and responsive.

Beautiful Surroundings

The surroundings are absolutely stunning. House is spacious, clean, and well-stocked of essentials. We were unable to connect to Wifi from the small cottage but the host tried her best to help and all communications were prompt.

Perfect for a relaxing weekend away from the city

We had a wonderful long weekend at Joanne's place. She was very responsive and accommodating. The house is lovely and spacious and very homely. The huge deck right on the river makes it perfect for relaxing, swimming and fishing and the hot tub tops it off! Would definitely stay here again and hopefully spot some bears across the river next time.

Nice cottage great waterfront

JoAnne was a wonderful host and the cottage was just as it looked on the website. My wife and I came with our 20 year old and their 20 year old partner, our 19 year old with their 20 year old partner, our 15 year old and two dogs. It was very clean and the dock and cottage couldn’t be closer to the water.

Great Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at JoAnne’s property! From booking to checkout, JoAnne was quick to communicate and always accessible when needed. The property was extremely clean and we enjoyed spending our days on the amazing deck and fishing off the dock. The boats going by were an added piece of excitement for our infant son. The beds were extremely comfortable and there’s an abundance of kitchen equipment should you forget anything! Overall a wonderful trip and we look forward to booking again!

Beautiful Byng Inlet

The location is lovely, with cruising boats going by on a regular basis as they head for Georgian Bay or come in to provision at one of the marinas. The water is so deep and refreshing and the cottage has all the amenities one could ask for, including high quality internet. Whenever we had an issue, our host took care of it in short order.

Beautifully kept, clean and big house with plenty of room, storage and amenities. JoAnne was kind, promptly replied to all inquiries and went out of her way to ensure everything was set up for us. Hot tub and master bedroom was a huge bonus and kids loved the fishing and swimming all week. Thanks!

Great weekend at Byng Inlet

A well set up property for a family or group get away to enjoy the relaxing scenery and pace along Georgian Bay. The wrap around deck right on the river is a great place to spend any part of day or evening. JoAnne is a very helpful and responsive host!

First family cottage experience

Overall we had an amazing time! Plenty of space for our family of 5, plus our dog. This was the first time our family has rented a cottage so nothing to compare to, but also nothing much to complain about.. Minor issue with the oven not heating properly but managed to work through that. The River was very busy with boat traffic which caused a ton of waves, but it made for a fun experience with the paddle boards we brought with us. We rented a power boat which made our time away much more enjoyable because we tubed every day possible. Sadly we tried fishing every day but caught nothing. Joanne was very responsive with our questions and inquiries.

Summer Cottaging

We had a wonderful time! This place was comfortable and spacious. Nice to have 2 fridges and we quite enjoyed the use of the hot tub. Great deck to lounge on. Great fishing areas. Swimming, however, was not ideal because of the boat traffic. We had a couple of interruptions during our stay with a shower leak and oven not working properly but it was easy to get a hold of the owner.

The property is in excellent shape with amenities near by if you forgot to pack something. Great location for ice fishing in the winter. Joanne was extremely helpful and easy to contact if needed.

Wonderful Cottage

There were six adults looking for a kid free weekend for our anniversaries. This place was spacious enough that we didn't feel on top of one another. It was very well equipped with everything that you would need. We brought our own boat and the deep water near the dock was great as you weren't worried about hitting anything. Also the dock was a great place to fish off of. JoAnne was very responsive if we had a question, this was just a great place to go.

Beautiful place with excellent management

everything was as expected. It is a well managed and stocked home on the river with clean deep water. The river is busy with boats which we enjoyed but for swimming you'd want to stay close to the shore. Joanne was very responsive to our questions and needs and an excellent manager. There is no real town - and walking is on the quiet road. We really enjoyed our stay and would rent again.

Great day on the river

A lovely spacious home kept up by Joanne, a friendly host. The deck has sun all day including sunrise and sunset. The river is refreshing. We went by canoe out into the islands. Spectacular. The only issue worth recognizing is the boats go by, sometimes frequently, and do not slow down. The dock goes up and down and makes a racquet. This only happens during daytime and is over well before spectacular dinners on the deck. Nearby Grundy Lake Provincial Park offered us some more fun. Thanks Joanne

Wonderful cottage in a beautiful location

Our family of four had a terrific week! Cottage is elegant, spacious and well-equipped. All kinds of wildlife in the area (we watched bears on the opposite shore of the river from the living room window). Georgian Bay <10 minutes away in our rented boat. Enjoyed many hours sitting on and swimming around the dock, which has a great view. Joanne was a great host and very responsive. Hope to be back soon!

Amazing place with spectacular water views

My family and I just got back from our week long stay and had a great time. The cottage/home is very clean and spacious with views of the water from every just about every angle. The deck outside is a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the water views with crown land and forest in the background. JoAnne was very responsive whenever we had an inquiry and proved to be a a gracious host. The dock was beautiful and I especially appreciated the dock edge protection they have in place to protect your boat. I fished the Magnetawan River for the week and ironically enough hooked my largest from the rocks beside the cottage. We were very impressed overall and my only regret is that we didn’t book the 2 weeks when I had the chance. We will be returning for sure.
