The KULA Shala - Muriwai Beach

The meaning of Shala is 'Home of Yoga', when we're not hosting BookaBach guests Kula is a wellness venue, hosting retreats and day events.

The Shala is nestled on the ridgeline of Muriwai. Just 49 minutes drive from the Auckland airport, or 45min from Auckland CBD.

Beautifully appointed with large grand living area with 6 meter high gable ceiling. This living area (the studio) has a beautiful long dining table over looking the view & a comfy leather couch and chairs to socialise with each other or to kick back & watch the TV. If you want to get closer to the view - wander out and relax on the outdoor furniture over looking the ocean back drop.

The Shala has a large lawn in front with ocean views and a beautiful landscaped zen garden with water feature and pond, a perfect spot to sit and unwind.

This property has a brand new kitchen with top end appliances including dishwasher and large freestanding oven. Laundry also nicely tucked away with washing machine & dryer.

The Master bedroom not only has the most impressive viewing aspect but also has stunning skylights that give you a chance to lay in bed and look at the stars in the evening (eye masks provided).

The bunk room has two very sturdy king single sized bunks. This has been designed with large spaces in between each bunk (plenty of room for a teenager or adult to fit in).

:: Master bedroom - super king bed or twin share (singles) - let us know when booking if you require twin share
:: Bunk room - 4 king single beds

The main bathroom is beautifully appointed with brass fixtures and high pressure rain head shower, & beautiful concrete basin. Powder room also well-appointed with a 2nd toilet and concrete basin.

To top this off the Shala has a top of the line sound system - just direct wifi in from Spotify at a click of a button to have your music fill the Shala. There is a projector you can link your laptop to for watching movies. We also have a few fun games for the kids (or big kids :)

Bike or drive a short few minutes to the surf beach. A short 1 km up the road is the well re known Goldies Bush walk & a little further up is the Te Henga coastal walk (both stunning). Or take a casual stroll down to view the world renown gannet colony.

Muriwai also has one of NZ's top golf courses - also just a short drive down the road. If you like your mountain biking you and can drive just a short 15 mins to Woodhill Forrest. The Shala has a large floor area - so you can easily place your bikes, or golf clubs inside for safety.

We love our land and give back to it with regular planting and investing into it to see it thrive. We encourage you to compost your food scraps and we will place these into our designated compost areas on the land. We also love the beautiful clean drinking water you get from catching from the roof into tanks. We have invested in a top of the line Italian UV water filtration system to deliver the cleanest drinking water for your stay.
