Right the heart of beautiful Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. This two bedroom, central apartment is perfectly located with a short, flat walk to the center town. Lockable bike storage available and a heated ski/snowboard lock up in the winter. The apartment is located in the upper floor of Alpine Lodge Backpackers but will be solely for your groups use during your stay.
This Queenstown 2-bedroom was just right for us. Traveling without a car we need to be close to the action and this apartment was great for that. From the living room window we watched the Tram climbing and descending the mountain and paragliders drifting down to the field across the street. Just a few blocks away is the center of Queenstown with fabulous restaurants, the Botanical Garden, and the Lakefront for gorgeous sunsets. Just a couple blocks in the other direction is the FreshChoice market where we shopped for our groceries. So, location, location, location!
But the important amenities were all in place, too. The bed was very comfortable as were the (abundant) pillows and blankets. There is a good strong shower and counterspace around the sink. For the 2 of us there was plenty space in the living room/dining room and the kitchen. There was even a counter with seats and electric outlets perfect for setting up 3 or more computers.
The apartment sits amongst backpacker hostels and this apartment may have been a hostel, too. Its second bedroom has bunk beds and there is a bunk bed in the main bedroom where we slept. So it can certainly accommodate a larger group.
Paul is a wonderful host. He met us at the apartment and checked in on us a couple days later to be sure we had everything we needed. He lives nearby and was very responsive whenever we had a question. He recommended a wine tour we loved and some restaurants, too! Highly recommend!
Paul really looked after us at our stay going out of his way to help us during our stay. Was super easy to organise check in considering we had delayed flights on arrival. The place was clean and tidy and super close to town. Will definitely be back! Thanks so much!
As a family of 7 (5 kids aged 11-14) we are always appreciative of holidays where we are not split into 2 units. This warm, spacious, self contained accommodation (sleeps 8) above a backpackers (was originally part of it) ticked most of our boxes. Only a 1 minute walk to the main street and a 4 Square and bottle shop, 5 mins to all the usual high St shops, restaurants/takeaway outlets, gondola, waterfront. Only 3 offstreet parks at unit, but large carpark available 1 min walk away (you have to pay). Massive amounts of data available for devices. No traditional TV but a screen that you cast to from your device. Was easy once we figured out how. Great communication and welcome from Paul. Even provided towels although they weren't listed as doing so (lucky for us!). Minor suggestions for improvement: A couple of serving bowls would be good in the kitchen (we made salad in a pot). Some pots have no lids. In winter I would expect electric blankets on all the beds. The main/back door has no curtain on it which means you can see straight in to the lounge from the back entrance, and all the heat goes out the glass.
