Self catering 18th Century Normandy farmhouse, four double bedrooms, wood burner in traditional Normandy fireplace. Set in a quiet hamlet within walking distance of l'Abbaye d'Hambye, this charming house has panoramic views over beautiful countryside. The house is equipped with plenty of games and mountain bikes to amuse the children & adults alike, plus ample garden furniture, so that you can relax in the garden and watch the sun go down over the Normandy countryside.
I would recommend this property. It was very clean and well maintained with everything you needed for a relaxing stay. The owners communication was friendly and informative. The house is well located for a beach or touring holiday. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
Our second time in normandie. We had an excellent time. Weather was not great but there is plenty to do. For the Kids the zoo the beach even shopping near Caen.
In the house there are enough toys and entertainment.
Positiv: Das Haus liegt sehr lĂ€ndlich.
Verder is omgeving echt prachtig!
Het is een prima woning. Heel rustig gelegen. Van alle gemakken voorzien. De omgeving is prachtig, er is een ruĂŻne van een abdij in de buurt. Wel moet je voor de meeste activiteiten een stuk rijden.
This lovely old farmhouse has everything for the perfect family holiday. There was plenty of room for us all (6 in total). First holiday with toddler granddaughter and it was great. Comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen with all manner of little extras, constant hot water, great outdoor space with plenty of games, bikes, bbq etc to keep everyone entertained. The location is in stunning countryside with beautiful walks and only 30 mins to some of the best beaches in Normandy. We are already planning to return next year!
We organised our stay at the last minute and had lots of queries which Lindy sorted very quickly and patiently!
The house is comfortable and really well-equipped with all sorts of things including washing-up liquid, soap, barbecue, salt and pepper etc, so we didn't have to rush out to the shops first thing. Lots of tea towels and blankets. The beds and bedding were comfortable and we slept really well. Also, there was lots of hot water!
It's beautifully situated on a quiet lane with just a few houses nearby. The valley views are just gorgeous, especially from the upstairs double bedroom. The nearest town, Gavray, is picturesque and has everything you might need day to day including a supermarket and tourist information. We loved the mini-golf and beautiful abbey, both very close by, and the Tuesday market at Villedieu. We would highly recommend the old farmhouse for all who wish to get away from it all. Thank you Lindy.
Booked relatively last minute, the owner was very accommodating and helpful.
The house is in a very peaceful location, is well equipped and excellent value, great to have DVD, Satellite and toys there for the kids (when the rain came), beach at Jullouville (near Granville) was fantastic, as where the Normandy Landing beaches and Bayeaux.
The Garden backing on to the field of cows was great, the kids loved the cows, however you will need to watch young children very carefully as the farmers field is surrounded by an exposed electric fence.
We would recommend this house if you need quiet and relaxing holiday with your family. House is really nice with a lot of space, plenty things to keep your kids busy on the raining days. Very quiet and beautiful location, good base point from which you can make day trips. Very interesting old abbey within walking distance from house. Close to shops in small but lovely Hambye or bigger Gavray. If your husband like mine is passionate fisherman plenty of nice rivers to fish not far from house. You can get day tickets from library in Gavray. Close to pretty sandy beaches and if you don't mind travel longer than 45 min you can visit famous Mont Saint Michael.

If your looking for a nice break away in idea lic French countryside then look no further. The farmhouse has amazing 180 views and comfy enough for two families. My kids loved the attic room, felt the cupboard in that room was like Narnia. The farmhouse is a short drive from Gavray where 8 du huit the local shop is well stocked. The boulangerie and boucherie has some of the loveliest meat and fresh bread. The farmhouse is well situated for all local historical events especially Normandy beaches. We spent the day in Granville and St.malo and the beaches are first class. If you have time visit Mont St.Michel it's really worthwhile and there is a free bus ferry service to and from.. The parking is around 12euro30 all day. Diesel of the beaten track is cheaper 1euro29. All in all the farmhouse is well maintained and very safe secure.. The only thing I missed was Wifi but you can get free wifi in Gavray. Lindy was very easy to deal with and keeps you well informed. Property was clean and rustic, I would recommend to friends family.
We have spend 1 week in this house and we had a great time. The house had everything we needed. Enough space, beautifull surroundings, enough things to do for the kids and it was very clean.
There are plenty of things to do in the area , u can go swimming at Montmartin sur mer or at the piscine in Villedieu.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend it .
greetings
A lovely house: cool on hot days, cosy when cooler. In a beautiful position with a pleasant garden and a fine view of fields and hills; lots of paths and tracks to explore nearby.
Newly decorated bathroom; excellent washing machine; comfy sofas; lots for children to play with.
Superb local bakers and butchers, as well as great street markets, particularly at Villedieu on Tuesdays (amazing fish stalls).
A great place for a family holiday, uniting country and seaside attractions.
What a beautiful old house. We enjoyed a lovely week visiting local amenities. There are many magnificent beaches about 20 mins drive away. The children enjoyed collecting shells!. It was so enjoyable to wake up to the stunning views every morning. The children found plenty to amuse them, ball games, sandpit, large garden, lots of bikes. There is satellite TV and lots of DVD's to choose from.
The house is as described above - not luxurious, but certainly lots of space with everything you need, and plenty big enough for our two families. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of comfy seating and dining seating. The views are just beautiful and the location is very quiet, disturbed only by the mooing cattle in the next field and the very noisy crickets who sang whilst we had our glass of wine as the sun went down! There is plenty to do at the house if the weather turns inclement, and lots more to discover in the local area. The locals were all extremely friendly and we had recommendations for things to do and places to go with our children from the local bread shop owner who has small children of her own (and fantastic bread too!). We didn't eat out much but would recommend the restaurant in Hambye (brilliant with kids). With a 3 year old in our party, we spent much of the time at the various beaches (20-30 minutes drive) but also spent a rainy day in Granville, the abbey is a must-see as is the zoo at Champrepus. All in all, a great location for a holiday and a really good house for kids (they'll love the attic room for sleeping).
A beautifully positioned house overlooking a quiet valley, the flowers outside the property were quite incredible. Very comfortable living room, bet its lovely with the woodburner in winter. Plenty of room for us five. Lovely gardens for our children to play in with good selection of play equipment (both indoor and out). Within easy reach of swimming pools good beaches and market towns. Mini-Golf at La Baleine a big hit. Sky T.V a bonus. Would definitely recommend
