Welcome to Starfish Stays. Walk to beach. This totally renovated Key West inspired one bedroom ground floor apartment is setting the standard on Manasota Key as one of eight units at Starfish Stays on the unique Manasota Key of Southwest Florida.

Starfish stays is a short trip to the beach for gorgeous morning walks, shell and shark teeth collecting, swimming, sitting under an umbrella, basking in the sun or watching the most beautiful sunsets of the Gulf. Plenty of complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels in the unit. Two custom built outdoor showers hit the spot to rinse away the sand and salt. We make it easy for you to relax and enjoy your vacation.

The grounds of Starfish feature a brand new pergola complete with gas firepit, bbq, cornhole games and seating for eight!

The fantastic Stump Pass is 3 miles south of the property. Here you can fish, hike the nature trails, launch a boat or kayak or just relax on the secluded beach. Stump Pass is an excellent location for finding shark teeth. Parking is only $3 per day.

Blind Pass is one mile north on the key. There are nature trails, docks for fishing, kayak launches, and playground and picnic areas. There are public restrooms and outdoor showers as well as more beautiful beaches. Parking is free here and abundant.

Starfish Stays was completely renovated inside and out. Our property features 8 total vacations units. 1D is brand new one bedroom ground floor apartment and was completed April 2020. Everything is new down to the stainless appliances, queen size bed and custom countertop. Starfish 1D boasts a brand new queen bed and a sofa bed w/ upgraded brand new memory foam queen size mattress for added comfort. We offer a fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, and all linens.

Please note: The maximum number of guests in 1D is four (4) persons (children included).

Starfish Stays has eight units on the same property! Four two bedroom units, 3 studios, and a one bedroom unit. We can accommodate larger groups in several units.

We have our own private beach access, a TWO minute walk to the sand. Looking to avoid the big beach crowds? Our private beach is wide, sandy and PRIVATE.

Really pleased with the layout of this property. Single mini-split has trouble cooling the bedroom and kitchen which are separate rooms. Good location and availability despite the recent several hurricanes!

Love Starfish Stays!!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Starfish Stays!! We were there for a month and felt at home. Great location, wonderful property and fantastic people! Paula, the owner, is very responsive to any questions and so helpful and nice! Stephanie is an amazing property manager helping with anything needed and just a good hearted person. We already booked our trip for next year! Highly recommend!

The coast had some bad storms creating high tides. We are thankful the tides are normal again on this coast.

The property and owner were amazing and we would recommend/ return!! Everything is nearby and the beach is beautiful. We stayed on the ground level apartment, and it was comfortable for our family of 4 1 dog. Scot (owner) was super helpful and extremely responsive to questions.

Manasota Key Starfish Stays

Considering a direct hurricane hit the key two months prior, the property was in excellent condition. Excellent support from property management! Amenities were great for us. The only negative was staying in a lower level unit, of a two level dwelling, and having an abnormally loud guest above us. We like the property very much, but would only stay on the top level. Fantastic location to everything!

We stayed for a couple nights and were beyond pleased! We were looking for a simple place close to the beach (a place that we could just shower and sleep at). We found it at Starfish Stays! I wish that we would’ve had more time to use the corn hole and pergola areas. Wonderful updated room, kind-helpful property manager, and perfect location! Next time we will stay longer!!!

Very clean, cozy place

A very clean, cozy place. It was a bit hard to find, we arrived just after sunset. It does not have any storm damaged as stated in the discription. When I did message the owners how to access the beach they responded very quickly. It was a quick walk across the street past a few other buildings to get to the beach.

Comfortabble stay for Beach getaway

This property was well stocked for our four night stay! We had everything we needed to whip up a few meals and big enough fridge for snacks/leftovers/drinks. The property was across the street and along a short residential path to access the beach. We appreciated having a couple of chairs and beach accessories readily available at the property too. Pull out mattress was comfy! Thank you!

Very nice and clean. Great place to stay with our dog. Easy driving distance to Brohard dog beach and easy walking distance to local restaurants. Only negatives were too few electrical outlets and lamps. Very well appointed otherwise. Only a few black bugs, not bad for southern climate. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall, the property was great. I wish they gave a little better description on how to get to the beach. Cause there's 2 gates at the entrance way. When is the car gate with a code into the right is a small walk and gate with another keypad which we didn't know.but great place i would stay again

Spring break 2023

Pros - location and price Cons - cleanliness, coffee maker didn’t work, first floor unit ( we had small kids above us, we left a day early because of it ) pull out bed was dirty ( trash and fake nails ) Overall, we would probably come back but consider a top unit due to noise. Location was nice with the private beach.

DISGUSTING!

Property discription was very misleading. Access to the beach was through another locked property. The bottom step was too high above the beach to allow access. The beach was only accessible during low tide. The unit was deplorable! The grout was black with dirt! The bathroom window frame was disgusting! The baseboards were filthy! The blinds had gaping holes that did not allow for privacy or to block light. The bedroom dresser was filthy! There was a live roach.This was my first experience with VRBO and I doubt I will take another chance.

Pamela was a nightmare before she even arrived. We have had over 3k 5 star reviews and have never had a problem. She began making accusations prior to her arrival and it just got worse when she arrived. Her credit card got declined and she wanted us to let her stay. We asked her politely to leave the unit and she refused. We had to call VRBO for assistance. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! She told us that if we didn't give her $$ she would write a bad review. It's a shame people like this are on the platform.

Perfect short getaway

Our stay at starfish stays was exactly what we needed to start summer off. Manasota key is a beautiful community. The accommodations were amazing and just fed the beach vibe we needed. We live in Jacksonville but I grew up on the gulf in a similar community and it was perfect. The amenities at starfish were great. I wish we were staying longer to partake in all of them. All the beaches are a short drive or bike ride away. The key is golf cart and bike friendly. We walked to the private beach and it was very easy to navigate to. The only problem we had was we tried to go later in the day and the tide was already coming in so there was not much beach and the steps to the beach were about a foot to a little over a foot off the beach, but this very common due to tides and erosion of sand and the wood or metal due to salt water in beach communities. Just something to be mindful. If that doesn’t work for you… thankfully you’re on a key do there is beaches all over that are amazing. The room we stayed (as well as the others at Starfish) has a couple beach chairs and umbrellas, floats, tubes and towels… as well as one of my favorite things I forgot myself, each room has strainers outside by the steps to be used for shells or shark teeth hunting. If that’s what you’re there for be mindful of the tides again… low tide is best but you can still find plenty of shells and teeth at all beaches just know the water is coming in and more waves will be crashing on the shore.

We enjoyed our stay at Starfish Stays. Owners were quick to respond when we had questions. Located close to restaurants and beaches but what we thought was going to be direct access to a beach across the street turned out to be mostly a rock wall that has been put up as a barrier since the hurricanes and unfortunately not a lot of beach front left. Not that big a deal since Blind Pass beach is just north a couple miles with free parking. We really loved that beach, great for shark teeth and bathrooms.

Hello, our beach access is a 5 min walk. Turn right and you're on the beach. There are also two beaches north and south. There is a free shuttle to either beach.

Clean Apt Close to Beach

Apt was what we expected, clean and stocked with all we needed in kitchen gadgets. Everything worked. Towels were extra fluffy. It was a short walk to the beach and despite the storm damage the beach was nice for walking. Questionable about dogs being on the beach but we had ours and only one person said anything. Fun restaurants are just a few miles from apt. We liked Manasota Key!

Great getaway

Well advertised and perfect getaway for the weekend. Everything was clean and communication was great. Tons of beach access and parks. Good restaurants just a few minutes south. Would definitely go again.

Perfect location for our short trip

Starfish Stays was a perfect spot for our short 2 night/3 day getaway. There was easy access to a great beach. The property manager was very nice and checked to make aure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend Starfish Stays.

Absolutely loved our stay! Very clean, well stocked with everything we needed (pots/pans, beach chairs, etc), comfy bed and close to the beach! Loved that they had an outdoor shower to rinse off our dog after the beach too :) Highly recommend!
