Beautiful property with a relaxed vibes. Karen was extremely communicative & the home was stocked with any extras that you may need. I would highly recommend a stay in this slice of heaven.
Everything was perfect. The home, the views, the location. Karen was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back!
We absolutely loved staying at this home! This house is beautiful and the wide water views were amazing! There are so many pretty birds from song birds to blue jays to egrets and blue herons. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, blankets, well stocked kitchen, etc. It was like staying with family! We loved the story behind the house and the loving couple that owned it.
House was great. Property was well maintained and clean. Kitchen well appointed. Comms with owner were prompt. We had everything we needed (and then some!) to enjoy family time on the waterâŠmemories were made and look forward to going back in the warmer months!
A fantastic stay from the initial Vrbo request to check-out from the property. The property owner, Karen, was wonderful to work with when answering questions about mobility features as well as when we had an lockout situation. Special thanks to her property manager, Jenn, who helped us gain access! The property is as advertised, situated on the Pettaquamscutt River which is beautiful to arise to and view the sunset. Overall, the property is well-maintained, stocked fir every need, and in proximity to Newport, Jamestown & plenty of restaurants. While the loft is a bit difficult to walk (Iâm 5â9â), we enjoyed the house & riverfront views.
The kitchen layout was adequate. All of the utensils, pots, pans, cabinets and drawers needed a thorough deep cleaning, as did the appliances. Teflon coated pans were all deeply scratched from previous use of metal utensils and should be replaced for safety. Front door was swollen and difficult to close and lock, same issues to open when returning. A keyless lock would be a better option. Sliding door to patio was missing locking hardware and we had to use the provided broom handle instead. Window hardware was awkward to use (crank handles would be a simple upgrade) and were broken and unusable (i.e. above kitchen sink) in some locations. Closet bifold doors all needed adjusting as they were usually off track. Main bathroom (upstairs) had sink and shower drain clogging (starting with first usage) and took forever to drain and left a mess behind to clean before the next use. Would expect this to be a checklist item between rentals. Location and views were excellent and as expected. However, the house was suffering throughout from not having a long term tenant or owner/manager staying long enough at the house to identify general maintenance items and address them before the next guests arrived.
This gorgeous home was immaculate with peaceful views and surroundings. There was plenty of room to spread out and SO well equipped! We made ourselves right at home and felt safe in the area and comfortable in the home. Absolutely beautiful spot to call home for a few days!
This rental was perfect for our needs. Property is in a beautiful location, comfortable and nicely furnished, immaculate. Easy check-in and friendly hosts.
Beautiful setting right on the sheltered water of the Narrow River. Gorgeous view from the living room windows. Kayaks available and Karen was always responsive to any questions.
The house was simple beautiful. Clean, well stocked, and the perfect spot for a relaxing time. The location is convenient to beaches, The cliff walk and multiple restaurants. I highly recommend staying at Karenâs home and we will be doing so again in the future.
My great uncle built this home as a summer cottage when he emigrated from Sweden in the 1940's. It became my family's summer home, and now belongs to my sister, brother and I. It has undergone several renovations to expand, update, and maximize the magnificent view of the Pettaquamscutt Lake and the Narrow River.
We have loved this property as a summer destination for 3 generations. We have cherished memories of boating, kayaking, birding, swimming, and cook outs, clam bakes, and cocktails overlooking the water. Come visit and create your own memories.
Bring your own boat or use our 2 kayaks and enjoy the private dock. The neighborhood beach is two houses away. Enjoy the beautiful view of nature from the living room panoramic windows. Kayak north to the estuary, or south to the Atlantic Ocean.
