My son spent the summer at this location to complete an internship. The place is small, but perfect for a temporary stay with separate living/kitchen areas and bedroom. The location is great and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and bars - and just a couple of minutes to the beach! The host was excellent and allows pets - we highly recommend and appreciate the stay.
I love the crystal clear warm ocean waters, and all that the tropics offer in South Florida. I live in the up and coming city of West Palm Beach whose new nickname is "Wall Street South". Class A office towers, urban themed hotels, luxury apartment buildings are rising throughout the city and older industrial parks are being converted into hip new neighborhoods. As a sign of the city's emergence The University of Florida has announced a partnership with IBM to build a new graduate school and campus in our downtown. Our midsize city is also now connected to the larger cities of Ft. Lauderdale and Miami by hi-speed rail, and Orlando will open up next year. The city is on the move and we are seeing dozens of financial firms like Goldman Sachs and tech firms relocate to our waterfront paradise across from the affluent township of Palm Beach. It's an exciting time to live in southeast Florida.
I enjoy riding my bike around Palm Beach's beautiful bike path and jumping in the Palm Beach Inlet any day of the week. Whenever I can we take advantage of our local boat club down at the West Palm Beach docks to enjoy a day of picnicking, snorkeling and playing at Peanut Island, one of my favorite places to people watch and enjoy the outdoors at a beautiful little recreational island at the Palm Beach Inlet. I also like to go see sporting events down in Miami, whether it be a Dolphins, Marlins, Heat or Panthers game or a tennis match. We also take advantage of the art shows in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami, and of course live music or comedy at any of our local theaters.
Located in the "Old Lucerne" historic neighborhood just south of the main restaurant, shopping and entertainment districts. Residents are an eclectic mixture with varied professional backgrounds and lifestyles who share an appreciation of old Florida. The neighborhood is a mix of single family homes and multi-family homes, some dating from the heydays of the Florida land boom in the 1920s but most built in the next wave of Floridaâs growth in the 1950s and 60s.
There are dozens of restaurants and shops within the downtown walkable/bikeable street grid adjacent to the intracoastal waterfront, and across the bridge from the beaches. The beaches of Lake Worth offer more shops, restaurants, a fishing pier, beach services and plenty of parking. It is the most amenitized beach in all of Palm Beach County!
Just of the things to do: Rent a bicycle and ride to the beach or up and down A1A to nearby cities like West Palm Beach or Lantana or visit other beaches; Golf at the Public Lake Worth Beach Golf Course downtown less than 1 mile away, or the par 3 in Palm Beach a couple miles away; rent paddle boards or kayaks at "Kayak Lake Worth" on the intracoastal; Go to the Lake Worth Playhouse a couple blocks away to see local artists perform in plays, or the Stonzek Studio next door for independent films. Head to the new microbrewery a couple blocks away at Matthews Brewing Company for daily food trucks or have fun with Trivia night or other daily events; Enjoy local music at several of the bars downtown; Head over to a spring training game at the new FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches or Roger Dean Stadium; Hire a charter boat and go deep sea fishing or scuba diving; Visit local museums like the Norton or Flagler Museum; See a polo match in Wellington; Visit the Palm Beach Zoo; Hop on the high-speed rail Brightline train from downtown West Palm Beach and explore Fort Lauderdale or Miami! There are endless things to do in Palm Beach County and beyond in Southern Florida.
