Les points forts : Emplacement et exactitude de l’annonce
Les points faibles : Arrivée et communication
Great location with some shortcomings
We love the location of Kiahuna Plantation and decided to go with a two-bedroom with a/c so we’d have more space and less heat. The property itself is fine value for the money. However, the property management seems not to care about guests. The check-in process was unbelievably inconvenient, and for some reason did not match the COVID requirements of the airline or the State of Hawaii. The screens on the unit are not all well affixed and/or fumigation is inadequate, so a few cockroaches got in. (We were religious about keeping doors/screens closed and sealing all foods, etc., but still had a problem). The noise from leaf blowers and other machinery was pretty constant each day for the over two weeks of our stay. Men climbed the coconut palms right outside our window to trim them without warning us first, and on the last day they spray cleaned the exterior, including the use of something that smelled very strong, but we were required to keep everything shut during the cleaning. We left our shoes at the door throughout our stay, but our white slippers were black by the time we left. Again, the issues seem to be with the management company. They also charged us $285 for cleaning and only came once — after seven days — to drop off a bag of sheets and towels outside the door, and then did not come again for the remaining 10 days of our stay. They were quite aggravated at the check-in when I asked about additional cleaning but did ultimately say they could bring sheets or towels again if we wanted — for an additional fee. The bottom floor of the unit, with a/c was comfortable regarding temperature. As to be expected, the top floor, which lacks a/c, was very hot at times.
