We love everything about this property. It's in the country side, lots of native birds, even NZ falcon. Not a neighbour in sight. This is definitely the right place if you're looking for peace and quiet.
Pam was very friendly and accommodating, on the first day we arrived we were greeted by pam and she had the fire going for us as it was a cold day, very good communication from her, was nice she took the time to message us and ask if we needed anything. The house was relatively clean ,cobwebs and spiders in the house need attention to, a working tv, microwave and a way to dry washing on a wet day are much needed and would have made the overall experience much more enjoyable.
We stayed at this property after completing the Abel Tasman and it was perfect for relaxing after our hike. Peaceful and private with a lovely deck to sit on and enjoy the garden and birds. The house is more of a home and had everything we needed. The owner was really lovely and even dropped off some fresh eggs.
The âFarmhouseâ is a very cosy, peaceful retreat among rolling hills with lots of birdsong. For our purposes the property was a bit far away from the coast (action demanding teens, 20 min drive). But it is perfect for peace loving adults or families with smaller children who can find extensive play opportunities on the large section.
The name âFarmhouseâ is a bit misleading. The house looks like a farm house and is really spacious. There are no animals though which our children would have loved.
Everything one needs is in the house and there is plenty of space. Good for rainy days. An extra light over the dining room table would be great. No WiFi which we chose on purpose so we had a chance to talk to our teens :). They enjoyed the board games and audio CDs. Our host Pam was so kind to provide us with a CD player, thank you!
Communication with the host was fast and efficient, all went really well. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We had a fantastic stay. Pam and Frank gave us a very warm welcome. My two year old loved helping to feed the baby lamb. We enjoyed sampling the delicious produce from the farm, including olive oil from the grove behind the house and the sweetest lemons. The bird life was wonderful. The farmhouse is in a beautiful, peaceful valley, yet a short drive from the lovely swimming beach at rabbit Island and the start of the Abel Tasman. We stayed two nights but could have stayed much longer.
