Fantastic spot and great for our family group but could use a little tlc and airing maybe. p
Great views, location and all utilities worked well for a classic kiwi bach. A bit of shade on the deck and a spruce up would add to the experience. Overall a great experience.
Traditional old kiwi bach. Great views and cool retro decor. Easy walk to the beach.
There was an issue with some of the power sockets but Pam had an electrician sorted for the next morning.
We really enjoyed our stay, thanks!
This was a property with fine views, a few minutes walk from Little Bay beach. We enjoyed the beach which was very quiet on the weekdays especially and also visited the neighbouring Waikawau beach which was lovely. The bach had some nice features and decor in a retro style. The kitchen manly would benefit from being refurbished which we understand is planned. We visited with our children and there are few facilities nearby so come prepared.
This property was in an amazing location, and I was sold by the pictures of the deck and the view, which were great. Unfortunately it was pretty unclean, mouse poo everywhere, on most of the beds and the couch. Duvets were stained, bedrooms musty. We are all trampers and campers and don't have high standards and accept that rodents do go in houses, but it states that this house gets checked before arrival - clearly it was not. So really not sure what the $160 was for!
fabulous location. I felt that there was a big gap between info online and then the further info provided by the host and the reality. The two upstairs bedrooms were fine. The two downstairs incredibly musty. We could not use the bedding from. downstairs. Thankfully we had brought some with us. No internal access between upstairs and downstairs made it difficult with the makeup if the group, I.e. children and adults. It was also very very rainy so that added to the problem if no internal access between levels.
The kitchen was well equipped .
We appreciated the games and DVD available to use, the WiFi and DVD player.
Great decks but unfortunately for us the weather was against us using them.
The laundry was well equipped and the bathroom fine.
As mentioned an awesome location. The beach us lovely, very near and safe. Again the weather was against us here.
I think it would have worked better if the weather had been fine.
I think that if just using upstairs it would be fine even if raining. I would recommend to the owners to sort out downstairs because the two rooms there are lovely especially opening onto the lower deck , just too musty to be comfortable.
We absolutely loved everything about staying at Pam's bach in littles Bay. Our dogs had wonderful stay too and felt quite at home. We all enjoyed the beach and had it all to ourselves while we had a swim and a sunbathe. You must check out Pam's book Salt which was in the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen was well stoked with all the utensils we needed to prepare large family meals and plenty of space. We hope to return to make more family memories in the future. Thanks very much for the use of your kiwi bach by the beach!
We loved our stay, and so enjoyed the kiwi-ness of the bach, so well equipped in the kitchen, most baches are not, so that was wonderful, location, views and sunshine, games, books and just lounging in the comfortable quintessential kiwi bach. Loved it!
Perfect location minutes walking distance from an amazing beach. Hardly anyone else around.
Bach is great with all the comforts needed for a relaxing holiday.
Pam was great to communicate with, made everything super easy.
Thanks for having us!
Compact cottage, but had everything you could ever need, the only thing I would add is something for shade on the top deck. Beautiful, secluded spot but very close to the beach and fantastic views of Little Bay.
Having arrived back in the city after our time in Little Bay we are left thinking wistfully of the holiday we just had at Pam's beautiful bach. The house is charming, extensively kitted out and comfortable, with two sunny decks and a view out to the ocean. On New Years Eve as we sat enjoying a drink, Tui darted around us, a pod of dolphins played in the bay, and a local put on one of the most astonishing firework displays I have ever witnessed. Pam is an hospitable and accommodating host, leaving us all the odds and ends we needed to enjoy our time. Thank you Pam for a fabulous stay, we can't wait to come back.
Little Bay is an amazing location. The bach is only a few minutes from the beach. We were there the week before Christmas and it was very quiet. We took our dog Moosie who had a wonderful time although her fixation with the endangered dotterels was a bit of a challenge. The bach has everything you need although proximity to bush resulted in plenty of critters in the house. However would definitely stay again, just the break we needed. Thanks Pam!
This beautiful character bach is in my opinion the most beautiful nature I've ever seen . The host had wonderfull easy communication and was very kind and obliging . Highly recommend!
We had an amazing time here. Beautiful, Kiwiana bach. The property manager was amazing and the neighbors were very friendly. This back is well stocked up with beautiful vintage goods that make you feel like you're at a kiwi bach. Am coming back again would recommend it. Been to many bachs at Little bay, this is one of the hidden gems
This bach in little bay is so worth it. The location is ideal. It is remote but so peaceful, and the view is amazing.
We will definitely rent it again

We fell in love with the beach while camping and the bach has been in our family for the last 42 years - we bought it when there was no power or phone! or bathroom!
Little Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in NZ and the bach is surrounded by bush with incredibe views to Great Barrier Island. Spectacular beauty, getting away from everything to soak up nature and swim in the ocean. Great bush walks. Coromandel has stunning scenery and the drive is 4 hours but once you hit the Thames Coast it's a beautiful drive. From Little Bay you can explore up to Port Jackson or Port Charles, Colville just 20 mins drive for local shop (has everything from food to incense to fish hooks) and Coromandel Town 50 mins with great restaurants, supermarket and The Source for amazing local NZ art and Driving Creek Railway tours.
It's a classic bach, pole house. It's comfortable, and classic - the house isn't spacious! but it's comfy. All new beds and bedding and a great kitchen because we are a family of cooks. The downstairs rooms are connected by an external staircase which this means you have to go outside on to the covered lower deck then up the exterior covered staircase - if it's raining it's ok, but if it's blowing a gale (and some guests have had the misfortune of cyclones on their holiday) you can get a bit wet - but we are all used to it! in fact, my husband and I had the queen room downstairs for years and it's only with my Mum's passing that we've recently moved upstairs to her bedroom.
