Sleeps 4.1 bunk bed (sleeps2) in one room off the kitchen and a queen bed in the main bedroom. Well equipped batch only 20 meters from the track and 35 meters from the jetty.Would recommend again. No wifi, but a short 15 min walk to Furneaux Lodge. Brian is very helpful and a good communicator.
A very simple back in a fabulous location. Perfect for a stop over. My son spent hours fishing from the jetty. A perfect location and just a short walk to Furneaux
Iconic kiwi bach in superb location just opposite the Solitude Jetty, so handy for bags to be dropped off from the water taxi and great for a swim. Perfect for QCT walkers as its right on the track.
Brian and Christine were wonderful hosts. They provided a clean and well equipped quintessential Bach stay. An ideal location for summer spot to walk, relax, swim and fish. Thank you would definitely book again.
Despite poor weather we had the most wonderful time at this place. A small 15 min walk and you have a fantastic restaurant and bar close by . Hiked on from here and it was a great stop to rest and relax for a few nights in the magical sounds.
A classic kiwi bach in the most idyllic setting. We had the BEST weekend staying here. It's basic (in a good way), clean and tidy with a nice hot shower. The setting couldn't be more beautiful. And hearing the Weka calling at night all adds to the very New Zealand experience.
We came by boat and arrived just on dark but had no issue finding the jetty and mooring with Brian's instructions.
We will definitely be back.
So relaxing, what a special spot in the Marlborough sounds, great location, weâll definitely be back
Very clean, well kept traditional bach. Easy walk to furneaux and jetty very close to house for loading/unloading boat. Kayaks were wonderful too. Highly recommend this bach
Born in the 80s so we still appreciate all the pristine realics, Tupperware, bone handled knives and other utensils, copper-head-rose ;-) The fun and functional couch, radio and melamine family dinner table. The Bach is perfect for down time. No WiFi, but there are enough mod-cons like a washing machine, TV, kayaks and hot water and the proxity to the track and wharf and private mooring were incredible. We enjoyed coffee everyday sitting on the wharf in the sun. Thanks Brian (please think of us when you decide to sell!), and especially thank you Moira and Steve who are very special locals.
A relaxing stay in such a wonderful spot. Lots of wildlife to spot, great walks and good access to the tracks with cougar boats. Brian and Christine were welcoming hosts. The Furneau lodge is just a 15 minute flat walk away and nice for a treat or to catch up on emails. Would highly recommend if you're looking to get away from it all!
What an awesome location and bach to stay at while walking the Queen Charlotte track. Fabulous communication with Brian, the owner. Spotless, everything you need and a fantastic location. Thank you very much.
Great stay at qct. Super conveniently located. A bach like a bach is supposed to be. Dont expect slick and modern but authentic. Really well stocked. Beds were great. Shower good. Kitchen was super. Everything you need. Highly recommended.
Don't make the same mistake we did... when u start in ship cove don't walk past the lodge. The bach is 15 minutes before u reach the lodge
Fabulous Bach location on the Queen Charlotte Walk, in the Endeavour Inlet. It is a 15 minute walk from Furneaux Lodge. Well presented original older style one bedroomed Bach with additional bunk in a multi purpose room.Lovely being able to watch the comings and goings of Solitude jetty. Very tranquil spot. Able to fish and kayak off the jetty. The owner went out of his way to accomodate a last minute change and provided helpful local information.Isolation does require a reasonable level of self containment. Settled sunny weather made this a great place to recharge our batteries.
Brian was a great host and looked after well. His bach is very clean and has all of the amenities we needed. Highly recommend this bach for a getaway holiday.
Enjoyed the old fashioned kiwi batch experience again. So close to jetty for drop off. A bit hot during the 30 degree day but generally very comfortable and well provided for. Thanks a lot!
It was over 60 years ago that my grandparents first ventured to the Marborough Sounds where they purchased a shearers hut ( which is now the bach next door). This was to be the start to introducing all of the family to this wonderful spot. My parents then purchased the section next door and proceeded to build the bach that we have today and want to share with you. I have grown up spending many fabulous holidays in the Sounds and had the fortune to purchase a bach from a family friend nearby some 35 years ago. We have since purchased Tui Glen from my parents estate so it would remain in the family and so future generations and friends can have the same enjoyment we have experienced over many years.
A perfect location for those walking the Queen Charlotte track or for simply wanting to chill out for a few days from the hustle and bustle of city life. Right on the waterfront and very close to the jetty the property is also ideal if you have a boat as there is a mooring located about 50 metres from the jetty. Very easy access to the property. An incredible location.
