This is really a fantastic place to stay. Spotless, luxurious (the outdoor bath is amazing), beautiful setting and close to town. The kids loved it too - they immediately ran out to play with the chickens and look for wildlife. Our only regret is not staying longer.
A well equipped, clean, cosy and comfortable property with beautiful surroundings. Obviously well maintained by the owners. Also comfortable beds with good quality linen. We slept well.
Such a lovely cottage in a stunningly beautiful setting. It has been lovingly furbished with all the comforts of home and so much more. We loved the friendly chooks and ducks and the curious pademelons. A perfect place to unwind and connect with nature. Only wish we could have have stayed longer!
The property and location are excellent. Linda has thought of every need you may have in a house. We particularly enjoyed the novelty of collecting fresh eggs in the morning.
My husband and I stayed at Naivasha for the second week of our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. We had the perfect space to take things slowly, really soak in the beautiful scenery and enjoy each otherâs company in. The cottage is lovely in every way!
The house and hosts were amazing. Beautiful, peaceful setting. Loved the book containing the history of the house, the outdoor bath, port and chocolates and fresh eggs in the hen house. This house had everything you could possibly need/want for a relaxing getaway. Lovely hosts as well.
Linda, We truly enjoyed staying at you're home. It was very clean, welcoming and very peaceful. We enjoyed the chickens and even had a fresh egg breakfast our first morning. The star gazing was our favorite. It was so amazing and something we are not used to being from Chicago. We have way too much light pollution to see what you see. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home.
A beautiful property with relaxing surroundings. A special place! Beautifully presented! Well maintained. Cosy. Very comfy beds. Great communication with owner. Delicious home made cookies upon arrival!
The cottage was perfect. Quite, secluded, well appointed, clean. We had a 1 night stay after hiking all day. The only sound was bird song. We had an outdoor bath and a warm shower and a wonderful dinner by the fireplace.
The listing undersells the kitchen: it is fully equipped and you could cook anything here. We kept it simple as weâd been hiking, but you could cook up a feast here.
We loved our stay here! The house is so spacious and well laid out with everything you could need and more. A well stocked kitchen, games, books, a great fire - we had overnight temperatures below freezing several nights but the house stayed very warm. The house is so light and with peaceful views. The kids had fun with the chickens and ducks and Linda was a very accommodating and friendly hostess. An easy 5 min drive to Deloraine which has everything you could need, and a very scenic 1.5 hr to Cradle Mtn visitor centre. We'd love to stay here again.
We stayed one night in Deloraine to break up the drive from Hobart to Cradle mountain, and just wish weâd stayed longer. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and so thoughtfully furnished/finished. The outdoor bath was such a lovely feature (thereâs also one indoors!) and we all loved the chickens, ducks, wallabies and even rabbits. To top it all off we saw a platypus in the dam!
Deloraine itself is a really cute little town with lovely coffee shops, a great deli and second hand stores. It makes for a great destination in its own right, but also a convenient drive to other attractions.
Lindaâs cottage is perfect! Weâve stayed in a lot of different and lovely vacation homes but this one is the best of all.
Linda was an amazing host and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to make our 5 night stay comfortable. We arrived very late off the ferry and Linda had picked up an online grocery order so we could feed the troops on our first morning. This home's location is ideal for exploring quaint Deloraine and this entire area of beautiful Tasmania. Naivasha is truly something special and although we used it as a base, we could have happily spent our entire stay at the home. The home is beautifully decorated and equipped and the surroundings are just perfect, giving an unforgettable experience. We were constantly entertained by the local wildlife that cohabit and interact, and the whole family loved feeding the chickens and the ducks, who would all come to welcome us back from a day out. We would all look forward to heading back to the home at the end of a day outing, so we could again experience the tranquility and beauty. We had perfect weather and clear skies to enjoy stargazing at night, with the moon rising over the dam. The outlook over the dam to the bluegum forest is something we will remember for many years and we will certainly recommend a stay at Naivasha to anyone visiting Tassie. We have stayed at many holiday homes, and this is by far our favourite. We were all disappointed when it was time to leave but do plan to visit Tasmania again, and we would not even consider staying elsewhere to enjoy further exploring this part of the state. Thank you Linda for having us as guests at Naivasha, we loved every minute.
Quality bed linen and towels, beautifully equipped kitchen and carefully curated design features transform this cottage from a good stay to a restful retreat.
It was lovely spot for our family to base ourselves to explore the area - so cosy to come home to. The home is remarkably clean and Linda had thought of every detail to make us feel we were on holiday. And the kids loved the chickens!
Loved our weekend away. Such a peaceful setting. Linda is a great host. Cottage was warm and cosy on arrival. Plenty of space and water view very relaxing.
Linda was a warm and welcoming host; very knowledgeable about the local area giving us great tips on the local sites. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this idyllic location. Our only regret is having to leave so soon.

Absolutely fantastic!
An immaculately maintained cottage with character and tranquility, fridged by trees.
The cottage offered plenty of space and children's activities for the family.
The children had the best time ever feeding the chickens, collecting eggs, bird watching and rowing the boat.
The kitchen was well equipped enabling us to cook all our meals for over a week and a half. The selection of books were well chosen (having now read 2 more crime novels!), plenty of DVDs and games for the children too.
Beds and pillows were comfortable.
Excellent location to explore Great Western Tiers.
Thank you Linda for having us.
We loved the stay. It is a very a scenic location, bordering a forest, facing a big pond. The cottage is very imaginatively organised and functionally efficient. It caters to the interests and pleasures of children and adults. Kids loved feeding the chickens and ducks and collecting the chicken eggs. The cottage was equipped with board games for kids and lots of books. Hospitality was very warm and considerate. Strongly recommend an additional bathroom, this will make the score 5/5. We will surely come back again !
Beautiful, comfortable , well appointed place to enjoy a break. Thoroughly delightful place to stay.
Our family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed staying at Naivasha. The cottage has been renovated with such care and from the moment we arrived we felt at home. The bedrooms are presented beautifully, with all linen provided. The kitchen and laundry area are all well appointed with everything that we required as a large family to prepare meals and wash and live very comfortably.
Linda's hospitality was appreciated by our whole family. Home cooked cookies were a hit for some hungry children. Linda kindly showed the kids how to feed the chickens and collect their eggs. We were treated to fresh eggs each day for breakfast.
The living space was so cosy for Tassie weather. Capturing the days sun through the lovely double glazed windows meant that we didn't need to use the fire place each night. Although we did put on a fire one night, just because we love a nice fire. There was also a nice selection of books, games and DVD's for quieter moments.
We stayed for 2 nights but would happily stay for much longer if visiting again in the future. I would recommend this place to a large or small family - it is just a beautiful place to stay.
My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Naivasha! We were a group of 7 (2 kids, mum, dad, grandparents and great-aunt) ranging from 3 to 70+ in age and each of us fell in love with the property. Linda was an exceptional host and provided welcome goodies along with her time to ensure that we were well-equipped for our stay in the region. The property itself was immaculate and had everything one could possibly need for their stay - regardless of length. I will definitely be returning!
The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this amazing place. A beautiful location and we all loved the dogs, chickens, ducks, pademelons and especially Dot the baby wombat. A warm welcome from Linda with home made muffins and lots of helpful advice on what to see in the area. Such a relaxing place to return to at the end of the day. Canât recommend it too highly.
*Year of stay is actually 2018 but does not seem to be available to choose on drop down menu !

Our family lives just outside the picturesque village of Deloraine in Northern Tamania.
We fell in love with the minute we set foot here. We came down through the eucalyptus forest and spotted a platypus in the dam! We renovated the 100 year old cottage (that you now get to stay in ) and lived in it for 3 years while we built a new home on the property.
We love being out in the bush and feeling like we're away from it all. We have the friendliest chooks you're ever seen, and a platypus regularly visits. Where else do you get to watch a platypus from the comfort of the loungeroom! We also love our 120 year old claw foot bath in our open-air bath house. All this, and we're just 5 minutes from "civilization"!
