This was not our first trip to Exuma, and we had driven all around the island so we had a reasonable expectation of the area where Queen of Harts is located. We did not realize that it is the last residence on Exuma Point, and enjoys unparalleled privacy, although there is a house next door. The remote location was easily accessible with the directions provided by the owner. We felt completely safe; we didn't see another person for the first 5 days of our week-long stay.
The house is extremely well-equipped in the baths and kitchen, including CrockPot and Air Fryer! It has a new washer/dryer. There is an outside shower. It has a lovely wrap-around porch with plenty of seating. There are lots of linens and towels. I wish the second bedroom had a Queen bed so it would be more conducive to 2 couples sharing. There are 3 room A/C units, but we only used the bedroom unit for sleeping.
Communication with the owner was prompt, and she provided helpful information.
The beach is easily accessible (40 steps away -- no stairs). The sand is clean and soft. On calm days, the water is like glass and we enjoyed floating around for hours! On breezy days, the water is a bit more choppy, but the breeze keeps the flies and gnats away.
**If you are a first-timer to Exuma, you should be aware there are some delicious fish shacks, but restaurant dining is very limited! There are convenience stores, but no supermarkets. We brought a cooler bag in our checked luggage containing frozen meats, foil, rice/pasta, some condiments and spices, sunscreen, even floats. We shopped for produce (25-mins away) and liquor (10-min ride) on our way from the airport to the house.**
Finally, since we visited during COVID times, the Di-Ara Medical Clinic is nearby for your required Rapid Antigen Test before departure. Results in 2 minutes!
We have stayed in a number of VRBO's, some more upscale/modern, but none that we enjoyed as much. We expect to return on a regular basis!
