We came for the gold rush flea market and the house was great for all seven of us. The location was close to everything and it was easy to get around. Very clean and welcoming. Thank you for having us.
We were in town for our fatherâs memorial service. This house was in such a great location. Family and friends stopped by one afternoon and it was the perfect space for us all to be together. Such a lovely home. It was like staying with your aunt.
The house was perfect for a base during our multi-event reunion . . . Comfortable, beautiful and interesting neighborhood for walking, and well stocked for at home meals. The beds were VERY comfortable! And it was a similar layout ans architecture to the house our father grew up in according to my aunt so that made it extra special!
We were there for a family members hospital stay. The location was excellent. The parking was also excellent. The house has so much potential. Every bedroom was comfortable. The cons to this house were unfortunate. Kitchen understocked. Towels old and cheap. The heat and a/c both ran together. Every piece of furniture was literally falling apart. Every door did not fit. I was trapped 2 times inside my room by improper placed door handles. Someone had to come and help pull the door open. 3 front doors: The flimsy screen door was the only one that locked. Front main door had 0 door handles. So it felt a little unsafe. Upstairs balcony had a deadbolt but no door handle. To open the door i had to wrap a towel around the deadbolt and pull. It should be noted that we had previously booked this property but had an emergency hospitization in a different city the nght b4. The owner helped with a fair deal to use some of the lost toward a future visit. Not the owners fault was the flight for life choppers that came and went all night long, everynight.
1. Bathrooms: half bath with toilet/sink on 1st floor, full bath with tub/shower, toilet, sink on 2nd floor; the full bath needs renovation (old tub, flooring). Not enough bathrooms for 4 bedrooms assuming they are all full.
2. Living room area couch and chairs by TV are very uncomfortable. Not a pleasant place to watch TV.
3. Radiator heat cannot keep up with really cold days below zero. Kitchen baseboard heat never got above 65. Not comfortable in kitchen.
4. Cold in basement where the washer/dryer are located. Washer had water/dirt/scum in rubber sealing around door.
5. Noisy neighborhood with helicopters landing at hospital.
I could not recommend this place with all the other options in Rochester.
Very nice VRBO for 4 family members who stayed at property, plus several that joined for evening get together on deck. Wonderful neighborhood, great for walking around Mayo campus. Only suggestion might be to have a larger coffee maker than the hotel room version in kitchen.
If you are going to St Mary's Mayo Campus, the location does not get any better! It is right across the street. Great communication with property Manager. Highly Recommend.
