Unfortunately, we were unable to stay at the property due to poor communication between the owner and myself about the availability of the house upon check-in. There was an emergency where the owner could not check our group in--nor was the house ready. He arrived late and advised that we make other arrangements on New Year's Eve. While trying to resolve the situation for the next night of our stay, he decided to not rent the property at all. In the future, the property owner should advise renters (especially coming from out of town) if there is an emergency that will cause a delay and not leave renters stranded.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but you were not stranded. Despite health issues and before I was hired, the owner still came to the property to hand over the keys and show you around.
You were angry at an hour check in delay for which we apologized for profusely. You yelled at the owner and you then decided to go somewhere because you found other accommodations.
We have other guests before you but no one has ever complained about our owner or our property.
It’s a treasure for its price in the DC area.
You brought the matter to a third party mediator but it was decided AGAINST you.
This was a one time situation. We apologize for the hour delay in check time which never happened before will never happen again and we wish you well.
