Villa Ella's Location: Villa Ella is located in a quiet area of Agrilia just a short walk away from Lagana and a little further along the sea front is Kalamaki. It is surrounded by Olive groves and is very private but close enough to the shops and supermarkets for those essential items. The beach is approx. 1.5km which is an enjoyable walk both during the day and in the evening. Taxi's are handy and charge around 6 euros into Kalamaki or Lagana. There are horse riding stables in walking distance and you can hire locally a car, motorcycle or bicycles for the more energetic!
The island has many very nice beaches but two have an interesting bonus. Lagana and Kalamaki (Geraka) are home to the Caretta-Caretta sea turtles. Here these creatures come ashore at night to lay their eggs, a fascinating site for those with an interest in baby turtles. At night Zakynthos city and Tisilivi offer good options for dining and accommodation. The capital Zakynthos offers fantastic views across the harbor and many restaurants to chose from. Tisilivi is approximately 15 minutes by car!!!

Zante: Zakynthos has luxuriantly fertile mountains, ancient villages, Venetian monasteries, together with the bustling resorts of the south making this an island to please everyone. You can find long sandy beaches, small secluded coves, you can visit traditional monasteries, walk among the countryside where the smell of wild herbs is intoxicating, taking in breathtaking views of cliffs, sea and amazing sunsets. You can visit the famous Ship Wreck Bay, voted one of the top ten beaches in the world by Conde Naste Traveler, the Blue Caves or the home of the Caretta Turtle. If you are after excellent shopping, art and culture the Capital Zakynthos town is certainly worth visiting. The square in the evening tends to be very lively and there are lots of restaurants to choose from where you can sit under the stars and enjoy local traditional Greek dishes.
