Il y a un muret sur le patio avec une goutte d'eau à la mer .. Perché de manière idyllique sur un piton rocheux surplombant le Firth of Lorne, à deux pas de l’océan Atlantique, ces paradis élégants et romantiques offrent une vue magnifique sur la mer et les îles. Dotés chacun de leur propre patio ensoleillé, parfaits pour admirer les couchers de soleil spectaculaires, ils sont assis dans une petite rangée du charmant village d'Ellenabeich, à côté d'un bar servant une excellente bière locale et une excellente nourriture (ouvert tous les jours toute l'année, servant des repas et des plats à emporter). Reliée au continent par le célèbre pont sur l’Atlantique, l’île de Seil se trouve à 25 km d’Oban et de ses ferries pour les îles. Luing Ferry est à 5 miles. Les marcheurs découvriront des paysages magnifiques à explorer. Depuis la jetée située à proximité, les marins avec un biologiste marin offrent des observations fascinantes sur la faune. Pub adjacent. Magasinez à 100 mètres.

If only we could have got there

Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances (our cat going missing) we had to delay our arrival by 24hrs. On the new date for arrival the weather took a turn for the worse and we were unable to get to the location, we actually couldnt get any further than Killin- Clachaig due to horrendous floods, mud slides and road closures. We communicated with the host multiple times advising her of our issues and that we had been forced to book alternative accommodation at inflated rates. The emergency services had closed the road and a red weather warning was in place. We had to admit defeat and end our journey north. Our host agreed this was the best option. I suggested we move our dates to springtime when the weather would be better and offered to pay any difference . A firm no. I suggested a partial refund again no. I was told I had to go through Vrbo who I had booked through. I contacted Vrbo and was told no I need to contact Cottages.com. I contacted them three times by phone, two emails and over two months later still nothing . I called cottages.com again today and was told no refund due . The entire experience with the host, Vrbo and cottages.com had been appalling. They are a happy to take your money but when anything goes wrong are not interested . A poor experience all round and we are well out of pocket . A real shame. I will plan a future trip to this part of Scotland as its a beautiful area, I wont be booking this cottage, I wont be using Vrbo or Cottages.com.

Our 2nd visit to this great wee well equipped cottage in the most breathtaking location. We were there over the Christmas holidays and unfortunately because of covid restrictions the pub next door was closed and also the one on Easdale however it didn't spoil things as we went prepared. I would definitely recommend this cottage and we will without a doubt be back. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Very peaceful, beautiful walks from the front door, nice little pub selling delicious seafood on the doorstep and the local residents were friendly and helpful. The cottage is delightful, well-appointed, and has an amazing view from the bedroom, which opens onto a perfect little terrace above the historic flooded quarry. No view from the living room. It used to be the store room for Kate Brown's shop, and then a brewery. Situation is good, right at the centre of the village, next to the pub (which was the shop), the bus-stop and the boat trips. Few other facilities in the immediate neighbourhood - you need to get in the car. Don't expect a conventional beach. Gripes? TV too big for our liking; shower head un-necessarily large (even in Scotland the water company wants us to use less water), and you can't wash down the shower with it; hob and towel rail not easy to work out. Suggested extras? Chopping boards, tea-cosy, coffee measure. A window at the front would be good, but maybe not possible under conservation rules. But these are minor things - overall it's a very fine place and we had a very enoyable week there.

We had a great week in Old Brewery Cottage.

We had a great week in Old Brewery Cottage. On arrival it was warm and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the cooker is excellent. The shower room was clean and functional and not at all damp or cold as previous comments state. Leave the window or door open after use and it quickly dries out. The view from the balcony is great and the bed was very comfortable. The tv etc looks good but we didn't even turn it on once during our holiday! The location is good for exploring this part of Argyll and a visit to Easdale is of course a must. The Oyster Bar next door was really friendly,as were all the locals we met. The real ales were excellent quality and the food very good. The sunday roast rib of beef was superb! All the staff were friendly and great to chat with. We were lucky enough to meet Kirsty and her husband, owners of the cottage and they were very nice people. The prossecco and chocolates they left for us were a lovely bonus. Lastly someone mentioned a scary approach road. We presume they meant the M8 through Glasgow (still not really scary) as the road through Clachan to Ellenabeich is just a typical Scottish rural road, not even really narrow to be honest. We look forward to returning and continuing our exploring asap. Ps. A visit to Luing is an absolute must!

We had a lovely week at Old Brewery Cottage.

We had a lovely week at Old Brewery Cottage. We met Kirsty and her husband on our arrival. The cottage has everything you could need for your holiday. The skylights provide a lot of brightness in the living room and you have a gorgeous view from the patio doors in the bedroom looking across to Easdale. We had some good weather (and some bad) so we were able to enjoy sitting out on the patio. We found the bed to be extremely comfortable and slept well. We would definitely stay at the cottage again if we return to the area. Thanks again, Kirsty, for the prosecco and chocolates.

Old Brewery Cottage is a fantastic place to stay.

Old Brewery Cottage is a fantastic place to stay. The cottage is fresh and clean with all the equipment you need and a very comfy bed. We enjoyed the wonderful views of the west coast islands from the patio as we sat looking out to sea. It's the perfect spot to look out for sea wildlife and feel away from the busyness of day to day life. We added to that by taking a boat trip to see the local islands in more detail, see the seals, deer and a white tailed eagle. There's an excellent heritage museum opposite where you can find out about the slate mining and the history of the island run by friendly volunteers. There's a restaurant/pub next door which is very handy and a local shop a few miles away where you can buy all your essentials including tasty locally made bread from the island.

The place was lovely, much bigger than the pictures show. The location was beautiful and quiet, and next door to a pub which is very handy! The bathroom had just been replaced and looked beautiful. The bed was so comfy, we slept amazingly! All in all a very relaxing break, with friendly owners who greeted us on our leaving ?

This was a perfect holiday for my wife and I plus our dog,the ptoprty had everything we needed,we bought local produce and the kitchen was well equipped and the weather was very good so we could,on occasions eat on the decking,what a view!! The Pub next door was very friendly and we ate one evening,most days we got the ferry across to Easdale lovely pub/café and excellent walking,it was like stepping back in time no cars!! It was a nice welcome to receive a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates,everything about the cottage was welcoming and the bedroom was so spacious and the outlook amazing!!
