We were fortunate to find Neal's lovely home for a fall getaway at the shore, our first escape since the Before Times. As a renter, you always anticipate that eureka moment when you pull up to rental property for the first time. This property certainly provided that--and more. Serene views across the water are stunning in every kind of light and weather, and the place is designed for maximum enjoyment of those views. The house itself is exceptionally comfortable and inviting, with plenty of room to spread out and hunker down. (It was only the two of us, but it still felt cozy, and we didn't feel like we were rattling around in a too-big space.) The location in Ocean View offers proximity to some great trails for biking and walking. For coastal woodlands and wetlands, we highly recommend the Prickly Pear and Fred Hudson trails in Fresh Pond Park, which is easily accessible off Cedar Neck and Hickman Rd. Other nearby preserves and parks are also worth exploring as a fun alternative to the beach. As for our host, Neal was terrific--generous and quick to respond to questions. A couple of suggestions for you, Neal: It would be great to have some direct light in the living room for reading. Maybe add a couple of table or floor lamps? Also--for those of us not used to smart technology, we found it a bit challenging to navigate the tv controls and never were able to find live television broadcasts (MSNBC or CNN for post-debate news), as opposed to YouTube, etc. You might expand your tech instructions in the notebook. We would highly recommend this property and personally look forward to a return visit! Thank you, Neal, for a most rejuvenating retreat.
