Cedar Cottage est une charmante maison de vacances indépendante située dans un endroit magnifique à proximité des jardins botaniques de Benmore, aux portes du parc forestier d'Argyll.
Nichée dans un endroit calme et paisible, cette retraite de trois chambres est parfaite pour les familles ou les couples désirant profiter d'une escapade détendue et précieuse.
Ce cottage récemment rénové est lumineux et spacieux avec une touche de charme écossais. Doté d'un mobilier confortable et contemporain, le salon décloisonné dispose d'une télévision connectée et de grandes fenêtres donnant sur votre jardin privé. La salle à manger mène à un jardin d'hiver invitant, un endroit calme et ensoleillé pour se détendre avec une vue sur le jardin clos.

La cuisine est moderne et bien équipée avec une salle de petit-déjeuner, un four électrique double, des plaques de cuisson, un four à micro-ondes, une cafetière, un lave-vaisselle et un réfrigérateur / congélateur. De la cuisine, il y a un porche à l'entrée et des toilettes supplémentaires.

La chambre principale est à la fois spacieuse et lumineuse et offre une vue imprenable sur les montagnes de Benmore. La chambre lits jumeaux offre une vue sur le jardin et la chambre simple est suffisamment spacieuse pour accueillir un lit pliant supplémentaire. Delightful cottage

A well fitted out cottage with everything we needed on a quiet lane but close to Dunoon and various beauty spots. We come every year to this part of Scotland and would highly recommend this cottage and its garden for a welcome break.

Great place

What a lovely place to stay, so close to all places of interest. Great garden for dog, orangery was a lovely space. The whole bungalow was well set out, clean and warm. Lil was brilliant. Just being so close to the hills, seeing the mist in the morning hanging low. The weather wasn't so great when we stayed, but it didn't matter. Had a relaxing stay.

Everything is designed and furnished with love. Lil is the perfect host. We enjoyed every single minute that we stayed there.

Lovely holiday

We had a very pleasant stay at Cedar Lodge. It was very clean and comfortable and a great base to explore the Cowal Peninsula. Our dog really enjoyed the spacious and secure back garden as well.

Superb stay

My brothers and I had a fantastic time at Cedar Cottage, the host Lill was delightful and nothing too much trouble. The location is perfect for everything Loch Lomond National Park has to offer. The rooms were all spotless and the conservatory was a real sun trap even in late September.

A peaceful haven

Cedar Cottage is situated in an idyllic setting. The cottage is very comfortable with excellent decor and well equipped. There were welcoming gifts on arrival which went down very well with the family. I would certainly recommend this cottage as holiday accommodation.

Amazing Cottage

This is the second time we have stayed at Cedar Cottage we absolutely love it here. We came for Christmas the kitchen has everything I needed and I could make a full Christmas dinner. Everywhere is always spotless, the views are amazing and the garden is really big if you have children or dogs. We are already planning our 3rd trip xxx

5 Night break

Cottage was beautiful, very clean with every mod con and more. It is very spacious and the garden is very enclosed and safe. Lil who owns the cottage is lovely and there if needed (lives next door)for anything at all. I would recommend this cottage to all- couples and families. We would definitely return.

Great accommodation

Had a recent short stay in Argyll and the accommodation at Cedar Cottage was lovely. Light, airey and spacious, with a great garden. Just needed a coat and shoe rack area really. The kitchen is well stocked. Lillian, the owner, was very friendly. You do need a car here - it is a distance to get to shops/food eateries. Perfect for those who like peace and quiet.

Nice conservatory and garden

Cedar Cottage is in Rashfield, about 5 miles outside Dunoon off the A815. We were concerned that there might be traffic noise from the main road but our fears were unfounded. It has a nice conservatory and a large garden with a table and chairs. Lil, the owner, lives next door and was very helpful when our car wouldn't start! She also left a good welcome pack, wine and chocolate! There was milk in the fridge too. The kitchen is well-equipped and the narrow bath has a rainfall shower over it. There was constant hot water. We would recommend a trip to the Isle of Bute and Dunoon is a nice place.

Christmas @ Cedar

We stayed at Cedar Cottage over Christmas 2022. The weather was typically Scottish but the cottage was warm and cosy. It had everything we needed for a quiet, peaceful break. The cottage is deceptively spacious and is located in a stunning part of the country. It has easy access to many country walks yet is only 10 mins from nearby Dunoon. We have stayed in many cabins/lodges over the last few years and this is one of the best. A special mention about the owner, Lil. She left us a pesonalised Christmas card, wine, cheese, milk, chutney and oatcakes for our arrival and made us feel very welcome. We look forward to a return visit

Relax in a beautiful countryside location

My friends, their little dogs and I had a lovely relaxing stay at Cedar Cottage. Beautiful garden which dogs enjoyed running around and exploring. Cottage was comfortable with plenty of space. Bathroom had been updated nicely, however a flexible shower hose would have been useful as not everyone took showers, only baths and this made hair washing difficult. Kitchen did not have enough spare storage space for food items. We had to leave food items on counter tops or in utility porch and move around when cooking. I know not everyone enjoys to cook while on a break. Bedrooms a little dated but spacious. Beds in single and twin rooms very soft but again that is a preference. A parasol or awning for the garden seating area would have been useful. It would be an ideal spot for a sail awning,, allowing shelter from light rain but mainly sun. We were fortunate to have sun whole there. As mentioned the garden was beautiful and large, but is not fully dog proof for small dogs with spaces in hedging and gaps under fence. The owner, who lives next door almost had a visitor on a couple of occasions though gap under fence. Fabulous location to explore Argyll and Bute, and beyond. Communication with owner, before, during and after stay wsx excellent. Although I have mentioned a couple of negatives, I would stay here again if visiting this area as all in all very good.

I have commented on your review just to show that it really matters when guests give positive comments and hopefully where possible gives us the opportunity to make improvements for our guests. We do hope you will return as you still appear to have enjoyed your stay. Did contemplate an extra shower hose but children love to play games with siblings so decided against it for the time being. ''Kitchen did not have enough spare storage space for food items. We will be installing an extra wall cabinet for foodstuff. Guests sometimes put dishes from dining room sideboard into kitchen cabinets. Sorry I obviously didnt check this as I usually so. We have tried to keep furniture as simple as possible for cleanliness. ''A parasol or awning for the garden seating area would have been useful. I am afraid an awning would be out of the question for previous reasons of children playing pranks as well as the upkeep of keeping it clean from bird droppings etc. We will look into replacing the outdoor table at some point which will accommodate a parasol. The owner, who lives next door almost had a visitor on a couple of occasions though gap under fence''. I did have face to face contact twice to check everything was to your liking. This gap has now been blocked off but will keep an eye on things for future guests.

Sehr schöner Urlaubsort

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Urlaub mit 3 Kindern. Das Haus und die Gegend bieten alles, was man braucht. Die Besitzer wohnen gleich nebenan und helfen gern bei Fragen. Alles war wie beschrieben. Handtücher haben wir ebenfalls erhalten, da man bei Flugreisen nicht allzu viel einpacken kann. Lediglich die WLAN Verbindung im Haus war nicht immer so gut, was Jugendliche manchmal verzweifeln lässt.

Aufenthalt im Cedar Cottage

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Cedar Cottage gut erlebt. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, der Garten toll und auch den Wintergarten haben wir genossen. Das Bad ist für mehrere Personen eher klein und wir haben darin eine Abstellfläche und einen richtigen Spiegel vermisst. Aus Covid-Gründen fehlte die Frottierwäsche, die Toilettenbürsten, sowie ein Haarföhn, was wir nicht einordnen konnten. Der Kontakt mit Lil Hood war herzlich.

A great place to stay.

Cedar Lodge is a great place to stay. It is clean and has everything you could wish for. The owner Lil is next door but does not impose at all, it is good to know both Lil and her husband are close at hand in case anything does go wrong. I would recommend it to anyone looking to visit the Dunoon area..

Dog friendly break

Beautiful spacious property with all the facilities guests need. Ample parking and lovely garden Plenty of forest walks nearby but unfortunately need a car to reach them as main road too busy to walk along

Amazing break.

Fantastic Cottage, home from home.

What a fantastic place, Cedar Cottage is. I can absolutely recommend it. The place is kept meticulously clean, with all furnishings in excellent order. This has to be one, if not the best holiday accommodation we as a family we have stayed in, of which there has been many. Lil the owner who lives next door (separate detached house) was a very hospitable owner, excellent communication via email before our stay, introduced herself the second day and was available by phone had we needed her, we didn’t. But she didn’t intrude we still felt we had our privacy. She very generously left us gifts for our kids plus snacks, milk, butter and wine! Really above and beyond. Lil with prior agreement came in and changed the bedding after our first week, which I was very impressed by, as this is not the normal in Scotland! The garden was a lovely peaceful, private space, I particularly liked the very comfortable sun lounger chairs as we had some gorgeous weather so it was lovely to sit out and enjoy it. The only thing I would change is the shower over the bath, my 6ft 4” son really struggled to fit under the shower, as it was fixed one, also those with mobility issues may struggle to step up into the bath. But these are just minor personal preferences. I found the decor nice and neutral and the furniture comfortable. The area that Cedar Cottage is in is truly beautiful. We loved Puck’s Glen, Benmore Gardens and Inveraray. We particularly enjoyed having Sheila’s Diner just down the road, which was great for breakfasts. Next to it the garage that sold most items we needed. All in all we had a fantastic holiday. Thank you Lil, we will definitely return. The Macdonalds

A lovely house in a lovely area.

We had a lovely stay in Argyll. We really enjoyed the house. It was very clean and plenty big enough for the five of us. The garden was lovely to. We were very lucky with the weather too. A lovely area. We enjoyed quad biking, treezone, beaches, lovely local walks and climbing a Munroe. Would definitely recommend

Family break

We were looking for a cosy cottage with a good garden for the kids and dog and great local walks. With Cedar cottage that’s exactly what we got! The garden is amazing the kids played for hours. The cottage was lovely and comfortable. Lovely touches like wine and biscuits left by hosts. If staying here Pucks Glen is a must, lovely very scenic walk up a gorge with the most beautiful waterfalls. Local service stations is amazing, very well stocked with everything you could need, even a good selection of kids toys and activities. Botanic gardens are gorgeous and within walking distance too. The children sounded as if they were enjoying themselves, it was lovely to hear their laughter when playing in the garden. Excellent stay

Last minute getaway and had lovely stay here after original accommodation cancelled - which turned out to be a bonus - close to the botanic gardens and 5 minutes from Dunoon. Very comfortable and spacious - bigger than the photos show. Excellent customer service. - especially when we got a puncture- very helpful in organising help
