Bike friendly location in the heart of the TdF climbs
Excellent base to explore some of the famous climbs of the Tour de France. The school house had everything we needed and the bike tools were a bonus. A short walk to Bourg DâOisans for dinner after a good days riding. Would highly recommend
After living in New Zealand for 4 years and then deciding we needed to move back closer to our family, we moved to Bourg DâOisans as it has always been our dream to live in the mountains.
Prior to setting up Cycling Ascents, which includes a 5 bedroom B&B plus 2 rental apartments, he worked as a Quality Manager for various medical device companies, with a strong focus on customer service.
When we saw the school house for the first time in 2011 we new that we wanted to renovate a house like this. It took 6 years before we managed to buy it from the local council and it needed a lot of work (18 months of renovation) but we are very proud of what we have achieved and are sure you will enjoy your stay here!
The building is a local landmark, now restored and very distinctive with the window detail and colours. We have kept the large arched windows and high ceilings (4m in the ground floor Ornon apartment) to retain the character of the old building while offering the comforts of a modern home.
