Cute, cozy, and comfy. Easy communication with the owner. I didnât receive any check in email so I had to call and leave a message. I was happy to have her get back to me so quickly so we didnât have to wait after such a long drive
The home was lovely and very well appointed. We were comfortable and cozy for our stay. It was convenient to the Biltmore, to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to the stores and restaurants. We (myself, my daughter, and my sister) enjoyed ourselves immensely!
The house was clean upon arrival. The location was convenient to downtown, wineries (Point Lookout and Marked Tree were great), Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, and conveniences such a groceries and restaurants. Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack just minutes away was fantastic. The house is shaded by trees so it's dark inside even on sunny days. It's in a quiet location. My husband didn't find the bed comfortable, I thought it was just ok. The spiral staircase is slippery so not good for those with mobility issues as the bedrooms and shower are upstairs. Minor but probably time for a new non-stick pan and spatula. The property worked well for our visit to Asheville.
The location of the cottage was excellent. It was a short ride to downtown Asheville and other tourist spots. The home is secluded and the back yard lush. Itâs a steep walk uphill to Collier Preserve and we enjoyed the challenge of the hike. The best of both worlds!
Loved the patio. It was so nice to sit out there with a glass of wine and unwind after a day of hiking and sightseeing. The cottage was centrally located to the parks and Asheville. The owner responded promptly if we had a question.
Quaint cottage on a quiet street. We loved the character of the spiral staircase and the walkout 2nd level deck. Decor is sharp and minimal, which was perfect for our family with young children. Perfect location between Downtown Asheville and Pigsah + DuPont National Parks. Just an FYI to those booking that the nearby coffee shop had closed as of May 2021.
This charming house is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. It was immaculate and odor free . The kitchen was more than adequately equipped for cooking. The location was easy access to parks, hiking, Biltmore, downtown, restaurants and grocery stores. I can highly recommend this property.
We enjoyed our stay very much! This was a nice getaway. It's located in a very quiet neighborhood and close to everything. There's a Publix down the street as well as gas stations and restaurants. It's right outside of Asheville - didn't take us long to get there at all. My kids would have liked to have had a TV in their bedroom.
We decided on a last minute getaway to Asheville and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The location was perfect to fit our needs as it was halfway to Asheville & Biltmore and hiking in Pisgah National Forest (highly recommend it if you can hiking Log Hollow Falls on the 475B Fireroad off of 276 - low traffic compared to Moores Cove and Looking Glass Falls). Also nice was that while stores and restaurants were the next road over, we felt like we were back enough from everything in peace and quiet.
Communications with the owner was a breeze and she responded in a timely manner to all our questions. The house was very clean and the start up supplies provided allowed us not to use what we brought as "just in case".
If there was any complaint was that the upstairs ran hot, but blame that on the heat needing to be turned on for a cold-snap in April (who'd have thought would be in the 30's in April). We did "fix" that by leaving windows open and night and turning off the heat so it got nice and cool.
I would DEFINITELY stay here again should we ever return to the Asheville area for a future visit.
Very much enjoyed our four night stay at the cottage. The location was excellent with close proximity to downtown Asheville and great hiking trails but quiet enough to feel secluded. The house was in great condition and I have only a couple minor quibbles that ultimately did not much diminish our enjoyment of the property. Water pressure wasnât great for the shower and new towels and linens would be appreciated as the ones that were provided had a musty odor. Otherwise, I have only positive things to say. Thanks so much!
Our stay at Royal Pines was exactly what we hoped for. Pictures in the listing perfectly captured the lovely, comfortable cottage. The kitchen was well equipped for meal prep, the back yard perfect for some time outside. Our host was great communicating checkin/checkout procedures.
We will definitely visit again. Thanks Sue!
My husband and I and two small dogs stayed here for two weeks. The house is immaculate and the pictures really donât do it justice. Itâs a great use of space. We had friends staying nearby at another VRBO and they really loved our place even more. The kitchen was very functional. We hosted dinner with our friends twice and the kitchen had everything we needed. The area is beautiful - itâs a 1.3 mile walk to the hiking trail at the top of the hill, and then there are 2 miles of trails to walk..There are many restaurants, grocery stores, breweries, shopping stores, etc. very close by. The neighborhood itself is very quiet, but so many things very close. Sue was very easy to work with. She made suggestions of restaurants and other things close by. Thereâs a closet that has a bunch of games and puzzle, which is nice. The beds were almost TOO comfortable! I slept way too much. The bathroom towels were really luxurious - probably nicer than what I have at home! We really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay there again. She also owns a house right next door which looked really nice also and would be great to rent with this cottage if you had a family reunion or other get together. Thanks Sue!
Sue was absolutely wonderful to work with! She was super responsive to emails, actually the fastest Iâve ever experienced when renting through VRBO. The house, what can I say...it was perfect for our family of 4 and our dog. It fit our needs perfectly. The door that opened to the backyard from the master was perfect if we needed to let our dog out while upstairs instead of going back down the spiral staircase. The location was perfect for everything and It was very quiet. It truly was a blessing for us. We will definitely be back!! And Sue, you may find a random note from my daughter in the book on the desk in the living room! She loved that little desk!! The only thing we would have enjoyed, however not a necessity, would have been a TV upstairs. There is not one negative thing to say about this house! Get ready, because we will be back!!
I am a local resident. Grew up in Hendersonville and have lived in South Asheville for over 15 years. I have two children one 30 one 17 who both attend(ed) school locally. I work as a real estate broker and have acquired real estate as an investment. I adore the area. There is so much to offer! Music, Food, FABULOUS opportunities for outdoor fun, theater and the people are so friendly.
Our Cottage is located in a quiet, private, walkable neighborhood. There is even Collier Preserve (hiking trail) right up the mountain, maybe a 4 minute drive. You will find all the comforts of home.
