All about the view, amazing. Lovely people and good accommodation
Met on arrival and shown around. The accommodation is just like the pictures but it really does not show how lovely the gardens are, they are beautifully kept. The view is truly wonderful. Easy walking access to Crail and off road parking. We would happily go back.
The garden flat is lovely - comfortable and cosy with amazing sea views and everything you might need. The hosts were so helpful and looked after us beautifully and graciously (despite me messing up our booking). Such a lovely peaceful pretty place to stay. Would recommend.
Crail House sits on the commanding site of a twelfth century Royal Castle, of which only a small part remains. The house is still referred to locally as âthe castleâ and the nearby street names reflect its history.
The house today was built in 1871 by Frederick Thomas Pilkington (1832-1898) the renowned architect. A two-storey wing was added in 1937. The house was acquired by the family in 1971 and converted into self-contained apartments. Today the three apartments: Garden View, Harbour View and Sea View are available as holiday lettings and can be booked individually or together.
Crail House stands in impressive grounds extending to more than an acre in an elevated position overlooking the sea, the May Island, and the picturesque harbour of Crail. The views are exceptional.
