Fantastic location, property and the hot tub was an added bonus
Fantastic from the moment we booked till the time we left. Had everything you could want, was peaceful, well equipped, easy check in, good value for money.
Perfect really! A+++
Lovely stay at the cottage...great area to stay in...St Andrews not far for a day out...Susan was very lovely and very Welcoming...only thing for us was the shared Hot Tub..X
When we arrived the accommodation was in perfect condition. With it being easy to find, in the countryside but still not to far from the centre of Cupar. Was so quiet and enjoyable and to add the cottage was so cosy which made the experience even better. Would love to come back here as everything was just like we wanted our little break to be x
Myself and my wife stayed over for a couple of nights for our aniversary and had a great time. Very peaceful and couldn't of asked for a warmer welcome. Can't wait to go back
Itâs was exactly as described on the app . Sue is a wonderful host who gave a superb check in guide and answered requests promptly . Although a shared courtyard itâs design still gave lots of privacy for our stay . I would highly recommend this accommodation to friends and family . I would love to visit again
This is an amazing property. We loved being out in the country, yet close to St Andrews. The owners (Susan & Doug) are wonderful people. They made us feel like part of their family. We will be going back next year. I would highly recommend this property!!!
Sue and husband were really helpful, Had a lovely weekend here, cottage is lovely and had everything we needed! Hot tub was fab! Would definitely go back.
5/5
Thanks sue
Ryan
We had a lovely few days in this property and the weather was stunning too. We made good use of the hot tub, the bbq and the walled garden great for relaxing. About a mile or so out of Cupar so not suitable to walk into. Very central to visit local things though we went to the East coast Crail, Anstruther etc and also went the other way to Fawlkand and Auchtrrmucty. All in all very good x
We had a wonderful relaxing break at the Hayshed Cottage! Susan met us on arrival and explained everything we needed to know. The cottage is very cute and spotlessly clean! I particularly liked the high quality towels and bedding and the availability of extra towels for the hot tub. We werenât blessed with good weather due to the time of year and would love to visit again in the warmer months. Would definitely recommend a stay here!!
The courtyard that the hot tub is really lovely and the pictures do not do it justice. The cottage was lovely and comfortable and great for myself and 17 year old son. The owner was very welcoming and we hopefully will visit again. The service that VBRO provides is lacking and poor communication re what the fees would be in the event of changing dates, which we needed to do. The owner communicated well but VBRO did not.
Myself and a friend escaped our busy families for a few days to this beautiful place.
This is a sleek but cosy haybarn conversion. It's compact, but roomy enough for a couple or, like us, 2 friends. It has a real luxury feel to it. My friend loved the romance of the loft bed and the softest sheets she's ever slept on. We both spent hours in the hot tub every day in the beautiful courtyard, admiring the scented roses and watching the garden birds come and go to their nests.
Cupar is 3 minutes drive up the road and St Andrews less than 20. Plenty of options to eat out and walk.
We especially enjoyed the swing seat overlooking the fields, where we couldn't stop laughing at how affronted the sheep looked at us swinging there.
5 stars for this lovely place, definitely recommend.
The Hayshed Cottage was a lovely small cottage in an idyllic countryside setting just outside Cupar. Everything was very clean and the linens of high quality. Despite its wee size, we prepared several dinners in the kitchen. The newly upgraded WiFi was amazing! The main bed was truly lovely but just know that it's on the small side. Be advised you may be sharing the courtyard with guests staying at the adjoining cottage. We had a lovely stay and would recommend the cottage to others.
Our stay was built around attending The Open Championship at a location near St. Andrews and we made the right choice in staying here. Susan was very accommodating to insure our needs were met, going above our expectations on a number of occasions. We highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to enjoy a peaceful, country setting.
This lodge is in a lovely quiet area just right outside Cupar. It is down the end of a short single track road which was initially difficult to find but Sue helped us find our way!
Sue was there to welcome us on arrival and show us around the cottage.
It was a very comfortable stay. The only small issue we had was the toilet flush broke but as soon as we told Sue she was on it to get it fixed as soon as possible.
Overall this is a great stay if you're looking for a relaxing time and handy that it is only a 15 min drive into St.Andrews. Would definitely come back again to stay.
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. It was close enough to Cupar so getting into town was easy but also far enough to be a beautiful location.
It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay.
We have lived at Balass for our entire married life and have slowly but surely renovated the property. We have worked hard to make this a special place especially extending and improving the garden. We have 15 acres of fields and woods which guests are welcome to walk through or picnic in. We are keen gardeners and that is reflected in the various gardens at our home. We enjoy golf, tennis, skiing and watching rugby. Sue loves to cook, Douglas loves to eat !
This is a beautiful area of Scotland. We are surrounded by farmland but near to the town of Cupar , 5 minutes away by car, 20 minutes walk. The courtyard garden is very special with various areas to sit in to read or eat outside if the weather is good. The hot tub provides a great place to relax in the setting of the courtyard . The property is very comfortable with a blend of traditional build with modern interior. It has a very well equipped kitchen and if there is anything missing we can provide it from our own kitchen. We hope we have thought of everything but if we have not just tell us and we will do our best to oblige. We have herbs growing in the garden and all are welcome to help themselves .
