Didnât realize the lake flies hatch at same time as our stay. However, our family made the best of it and still caught a lot of perch and small mouth bass. Beautiful views. Very enjoyable stay!
Location was perfect. House was perfect and the relaxing view was amazing! All of the photos are exactly what you are getting! Host was accommodating and answered any questions we had!
Wonderful home to stay in! Comfortable, clean and spacious! 5 adults had plenty of room. Kitchen was amply stocked with pots and pans and dishes, dish soap, hand towels, etc. Beautiful view. Parking was perfect for a rental car and my husbandâs truck & boat with access to an electrical outlet. Room to turn around was offered by using part of the neighbors driveway. It was great. Beds were very comfortable. Shower water pressure was great. So many little things were thought of by the owners. Weâll be back!
We have made a trip to LSC for the last 5 years and this is the first rental we have stayed in that we will book again! This is the dream VRBO from amazing property owners. Space in the home is good, the kitchen is stocked and updated, the shower pressure is great, the beds are comfy, the TVs are nice. The best part as fisherman is the yard and driveway. They have set it up to make is so easy to get in and out of with a boat. The location on the lake is great as well. Would recommend this stay to anyone!
We very much enjoyed our stayâŠ.such an easy process, checking in and out and was a perfect place for us with great amenities and convenience to everything in the area.
We stayed with a few friends for a week. The house is so charming, I love how they kept a lot of the original things, since it is over 100 years old. We loved sitting on the back deck and watchjng the boats and squirrels chase eachother.and
This property was absolutely ideal for our family gathering. 4 bedrooms allowed for just enough space, while the larger gathering areas brought all 7 of us together. We met my brother and his family from Ontario for the weekend and we were all amazed at just how friendly the neighbors and community members were. One neighbor even helped us fly our kites!
We absolutely loved this little getaway and canât wait to go back.
The owner does a great job of keeping the property nice. The home offered everything we were looking for. We were spending the week fishing. The location is perfect for accessing the various boat ramps on the Western shore of Lake St. Clair.
Booked this house for a week of bass fishing with family and friends. Worked great. Easy access to everything needed. Convenient parking using the neighbors drive turnaround to park 3 trucks and trailers.
Very nice location on Lake St. Claire. The neighbors are very friendly. The house is comfortable and you get a great leg workout since you have to either go up or down stairs to access bathroom. The Airwick plug ins everywhere are a bit overwhelming and the bedrooms get very warm. All in all, the house is nice if you're looking for something on the lake
A 4 day retreat for our annual âSisters Weekâ a mile from my house....just to be on the water and once there we could have been in Harbor Springs as far as we were concerned. So beautiful a settling. And an adorable house. A downstairs bathroom would have been ideal for an elderly sister but we knew that going in so canât complain. All in all no complaints. And Alex was great!
Alex, the property owner was amazing to deal with.
I was born and raised in New Baltimore and this house was the perfect location to get to all the family functions. The views are incredible of Lake St. Clair and the house is a typical, charming lake property.
We would stay again in a heartbeat.
Only a few suggestions for the owner, it would be helpful to have a king or a queen bed downstairs, especially for couples who are used to that sleeping arrangement.
The house was not the cleanest, but I assume it had not been rented in a while?
It also would be a nice touch for some coffee pods to be available for your first morning...but other than that it was fantastic. We are looking at coming back in the summer for several weeks!
This house was beautiful, very clean and well kept. The outside area was perfect for our family. Unfortunately, the ONLY room with air conditioning was the master bedroom on the second floor. We visited in August when the outside temperatures were between 85 and 92 degrees.  We were essentially unable to use the main level as it was extremely hot, even when using the fans provided. Many of the windows did not open fully and some of those that did (like the back screen door) had holes in the screens that would allow bugs in to the house. The VROB listing stated that the house had air conditioning which is misleading.  I would not ever think to ask if it was for the entire house or just a portion. Again, this was a lovely house and, if and when it becomes equipped with air conditioning for the entire house, I would love to stay again.
Lake St. Claire is a beautiful place to spend a week's vacation. This home has a great location on the water with amazing views. The newly renovated kitchen and bath is very nice. Kitchen has all that you'd need to cook and even a Keurig which was a pleasant surprise. New Baltimore is a great little town with restaurants in walking distance, also a great little ice cream shop in town. Both neighbors are extremely nice.
Unfortunately, the driveway is incredibly long which makes it difficult to park or maneuver a 19' boat and it is full of potholes that get your car incredibly dirty if it rains. The dock is not the kind that you can tie a boat to for any length of time. We ended up docking at Angler's Point Marina who has a great owner named Jackie. We felt safe leaving our boat there but nothing compares to having it at your house. No spontaneous fishing or water sports outings could be had since you had to drive 10 minutes down to the marina.
As far as the home goes, all the other areas need to be renovated, and perhaps the owners have that in mind for the future. The carpeting going up the steps was not appealing at all and needs to be replaced. I wasn't even comfortable walking up and down in my bare feet. The wallpaper is peeling off and there are holes in the wall in the hallway. Some suggestions would be more flat surfaces in bedrooms for personal items and more hooks throughout the house for the many items that need to be hung.
The property was beautiful. The views were incredible. The dock was a bit unsteady and needs some upkeep. The house had a lot of spiders which may be normal for the area but would have liked a good sweep of the inside of the house prior to arriving. We left with a few spider bites. The master bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The bathtub did not drain properly so when we showered we had to stand in our shower water. It took a good 1/2 of an hour for water to drain before the next person could shower. I think there may be some plumbing problems with the house as the toilet looked as if it was going to overflow after each flush. This is a pre-existing condition and the sign states that it will cost 300.00 if a plumber is needed? Almost all of the needed amenities were provided for our stay however, there was no soap to shower with. That seemed a bit odd that there was no soap for showering. The TV had horrible connection and it was impossible to watch a show without interference. It appears that either the internet connection is poor or the cable is bad. This definitely needs attention if anyone wishes to relax and watch anything as this was by far the most aggravating part of our stay.
This is a charming home. Cape Cod is the immediate feel. From the picket fence at the top of the driveway to the beautiful view off the back deck. I read reviews of no A/C downstairs but we found it quite comfortable with central A/C on the first floor and a window A/C on the second. The bedrooms are upstairs of a steep stairway common for this time period home. We had no problem, just be cautious. The reason for the 4 star rather than 5 has more to do with our worrisome nature. The toilet upstairs does fill to the top before flushing. We could just imagine flooding the bottom floor of the house, it made us nervous as did a notice of a $300 plumbing charge. We didn't use the washer because we were worried it would have an adverse effect on the plumbing. As it turns out we did NOT flood the house and the owner assured us that was a normal flush.
The owner was very quick to respond. He even came after dark to run a drop cord to charge our boat.
The boat is a 22 foot bass boat. It was no easy feat to either back it down the picturesque driveway making it easier to pull out into traffic or even worse back it out into said traffic. On the bright side, the boat lauch was less than 5 minutes away.
The white picket fence at the top of the drive is a great landmark for finding the driveway after dark.
