THE LOCAL AREA:
This area has blue flag sandy beaches and a wide range of leisure activities. A short walk along the clifftop will lead you to the Funicular Victorian cliff lift which can take you down to the sandy shores below. Cafe Riva is a cliff top café serving food and beverages. The main area of Southbourne-On-Sea is Southbourne Grove, a long shopping street that has some unique and individual shops. Shops include a butcher, a bakery, numerous cafés, hairdressers, convenience stores, home wares, gift shops and the post office. Wick Village is a short drive away with Riverside walks and boating activities, a public slipway and 3-par golf course and driving range. There you will find Tuckton Tea Gardens and ferries that will take you to Christchurch Quay. Just nearby is also Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve where you can take the land train for gentle and easy access to Mudeford Sand spit. Bournemouth and Boscombe centres are a short drive for those visitors wishing to be involved in the more hustle and bustle of a traditional seaside town.
